# 1 Bring back Merits/Honor

Remember before dilithium, we had Merits for fed, Honor for KDF. This was obtained thru missions, STFs, Killing Bosses (I think, 40% sure), Fleet actions, Ect.

What I want is merits/honor readded to STO (with a slightly diferent Purpose)

Ever wonder why You buy BOFFs/DOFFs with dilithium? Or even ships. Starfleet builds the ships, you requisition them. So What im proposing is...

Missions give 500 M/H (Merit/Honor) first run
250 M/H Rerun.

STFs give
750 M/H Normal
1000 M/H Elite
+500 during STF event day
+200 Per Optional Normal
+300 Per optional Elite

No win Scenario gives
200 wave 1-7
500 wave 8-9
1000 wave 10.

So if u beat NWS u get 3400 merits.

Fleet Actions would give
3000 M/H (would give purpose again after removal of high dil rewards)

Killing Boss Lvl NPCs in missions = 10 merits
Killing Boss lvl NPCs in elite missions = 50 merits
Killing Boss LvL NPCs in STFs = 50 Merits
Killing Boss lvl npcs in elitestfs = 70 merits

PvP: 1000 M/H for win, 750 M/H for lose, 0 M/H if your Total dmg+healing is under 10000 (Space), and 500 (Ground)

Defeation of a full Faction Storyline = 2500 Merits. (so complete ALL Klingon Missions, get 5000 merits as a reward) (awarded Thru accolades, Terradome Part of both Undine and borg Story)

Vendors:

Starfleet/Klingon Requsitions: offer Basic Consumables at Merit prices
1 M/H for a small Hypo
5 M/H for a med Consumabel
10 M/H for a large consumable or battery
100 M/H for a large battery
200 M/H for a Hybrid Battery
500 M/H for a Team battery
2000 M/H for a team hybrid battery
15000 M/H for a Starfleet/KDF Reinforcements Consumable (Spawns 2 Frigates to assist in any combat situation)
50,000 M/H for a Elite Starfleet/KDF Reinforcements Consumable (Spawns 1 Frigate, 2 Escorts, and a 10% chance of a Cruiser to assist in any combat situation EXCLUDING pvp)
100,000 M/H for a Full Full Support Consumable (Spawns 3 frigates, 2 Escorts, 1 Battleship, and a 5% chance to spawn a dreadnought in any combat situation EXLUDING pvp)
1,000,000 M/H for a Fleet Command Assault Consumable (spawns 10 Escorts, 1 Battleship, 1 Dreadnought in any combat situation EXCLUDING pvp) (for 1mil Merits... yea this wont be used often)

Starfleet/KDF Personnel Requisitions:

500 Merits for a White BOFF
250 Merits for a White DOFF
750 Merits for a Green BOFF
500 Merits for a green DOFF
1000 Merits for a Blue BOFF
750 Merits for a Blue DOFF
1500 Merits for a purple BOFF
1250 Merits for a Purple DOFF
250,000 Merits for a Veteran BOFF

Ship Purchases:

T1:5000 Merits
T2:7500 Merits
T3:10000 Merits
T4:15000 Merits(Jumps here because this is when you can get much more M/H Quicker.
T5:20000 Merits

This even seems fair. It allows acess to get consumables (some ppl really DONT know how to make EC... Sadly, and this allows us to get consumables by doing missions)
Even allows us to get the Veteran BOFF after Months of Merit Grinding 250000 is not an easy number to reach at those rates.

AND A MUCH BETTER SYSTEM TO BUY SHIPS!

Earn the ships from missions, not buy the ships because your rich!

OFC:

Add Fleet Merit/Honor Requirements

Like: T1 Average of 10000 Per Assignment
T2 Average of 20000
T3 of 30000
T4 of 50000
T5 of 75000


MERITS AND HONOR HAVE NO CONVERSION RATES TO EC, ZEN, DIL, LOBI, or GPL!

Solely for its only purpose of the above.

No thanks, last thing we need is more currency - Besides we Vets pretty much got screwed in the last conversion.

Oh goodness, please no. There was enough trouble just trying to keep track of all those damn currencies (the interface wasn't exactly great at the time either). See the cluster-eff that is The Old Republic's commendation system...except worse somehow.

No, Dilithium is simply better, especially considering business realities.

Most folks who think otherwise are just the ones who don't want to pay for anything. I can't blame you lot for that attitude, but it's simply not realistic, or beneficial to the long-term.

Think about it this way: In today's STO, you pay in either time or money to get what you want (or a mixture of both). Time = grinding Dilithium, Rep, or Commendation XP (which barely counts since it accumulates when you're offline). Money = Zen to buy Dilithium, though you still need some time for Rep and Commendation XP.

When it was sub-only, and before the Dil exchange, you paid BOTH, in monthly costs, in C-points, and in time grinding Merit, without the option for a mixture that suits your schedule or budget.

We can quibble all we want about the long-term effects of things like Rep, Starbases and the Dilithium crash, but so far STO's transition to F2P is a net gain for pretty much everyone involved, from devs to noobs to veterans. I've been here since beta, and I say that the game's never been better.

But no. With the reputation system, I think we will be getting plenty of currencies. No thank you.

And strangely enough, even with Rep and the inevitable extra marks to grind, it'll still be less confusing, and with more obvious benefits, than Merit.

Back in the day pretty much the only things you could buy with Merits were the things you can buy in today's Dil store (and if the system were in place today, the current starbase offerings). No sets, which were limited to crafting, events, and STFs (which EVERYONE had to play ALL THE WAY THROUGH, space AND ground, only to fail their roles and do it again), so it was all just high-stat items which where still inferior to Mk XII set items.

U know what. OMG Sto has like 6 currencys that are displayed in the currency tab. If you cant keep track of that... no comment. Go play wow. Your keeping track of way more then 6 currencys. You have

ALL your repustaion skills, Rep currency (which goes in inventory)
Gold
Silver
Copper
Honor
Valor
Justice
Arena marks
and more and more!

I mean, u think STO is bad! You could be in any other MMO keeping track of 100x more currencys. While I like dil and how u can buy it with real money, I want a currency that makes sense, and one that I can get more then 8000 of per day. if I want a T5 ship I gotta grind rediculusly for it Or spend money. I even have to spend money on doffs if I have no dil.

STO has very very few currencys. Even back b4 dil, it had few currencys.
What sto needed was all the pvp currencys and all the pve currencys lumped together into 2 dif currencys instead of 20. However. Even at endgame sto ur keeping track of...

EC
Omega Rep (Even tho u don't really have to keep track of it)
Rom Rep ^ Same
Dilithium
The useless currency of GPL
Lobi if u buy Ripoff boxes
some Q commodities u prolly have 200x to much of, and u could easily sell for EC.

What I see here is...
5 Currencies you have to actively track. 2 of which are easy to track since u get ample supply. Lobi is only for maybe 20% of the game.

SO realisticly you have

Dil

2 Currencies. You really wanna complain about 2?

Once u have the Q stuff u don't need any of the Winter currency, (tho that does need a revamp honestly)

Chances are you wont even need to keep track of merits, they just accumulate, like skill points. You get boff skill points all the time, do u actively track them? No. How often do u need to use them? Just a bit in the beginning, then rarely.

And what conversion? Im saying just add it, use accolades to distribute a little of it. Then Get the rest urself. No conversion!

Hwo about this 1, U really cant take another currency, we replace Merits with GPL in the original paragraph, there u go, currency was already in STO (u used it for about 5 things, all meaningless Shinys) Now u have the same amount of currencys to track.

I don't think anyone keeps track of how much copper or silver they have past level 5 these days. Justice points too. They've been invalidated since getting valor points for doing daily quests for crying out loud.

WoW has a lot of currencies yes, but only three or four are ever used at a time. Only hardcore crafters/traders care about things like ironpaw tokens, cooking awards, etc. Everything else is pretty management free and the only thing people really worry about is gold, valor points and honor/conquest points.

did I say bring back the old system?

I said bring back merits then repurpose it. Old system Honstestly was a mess, everything as separate. But we need a currency so not 100% of the stuff cryptic gives us is a dil sink....

Thank you very much. You just explained STOs System too.

STO has a lot of currencies, very few are used at once. GPL is unused, Lobi is RL Money only, Borg Neural Processors are not even really monitored. Ppl just do elite stfs they don't ount their Borg Neural Processors. Omega rep, just do some stfs get enough for your Project, You don't actualy keep track, you know its there, but u don't obsess over it (I hope not) Merits would be rewarded for everything

It isn't:

Ok now u have to do X Y and Z

NOW Do A B and C for This

Now D F G for this

Ok time for H I and J grinds

Its while ur doing your Missions for dil ur getting merits

WHile ur doing ur missions for Rep Points u get merits.

While your having fun doing neither of the 2 things mentioned above, you get merits.

Merits is the closest thing to a reward system STO will ever get. I like having a garuntee about how much I do stuff, atleast I know for a fact ill end with something. I even do pvp :O OMG ZOMG HEZ A PVPER HAXXOR MY GOD HE MUST BE A F****** BECAUSE HE PVPS! I get nothing out of pvp. The time it takes me to get 2000 dil out of pvp, ur already grinding ur omega rep.
