Sometimes you just have to do things to make it easier, more accessible, and less confusing.

Narrowing MOST of everything down in game down to just dilithium and energy credits streamlines the process. The dilithium grind is bad enough, we don't need to grinds other currencies as well.

Reminds me of my two tours to the middle east. The first tour I had to make sure I had a debit card, physical US dollars, AAFES pogs, the British military's version of AAFES pogs, Kuwaiti money, and Qatari money. The second tour we got a nice government issued debit card that covered just about everything.
Most JJ Trek hate = IDIC fail.

Well, to be fair you do have to keep track your Romulan rep, since most of the Rommie missions award much lower overall rep than Omega missions, so there are more times you have to count how many Azure Rescues or Vault Ensnared or New Romulus grinds you have to do to get the marks for the next project.

But yeah, there's no need to track if you have even the loosest kind of regular STO endgame routine.

It's called Expertise now.

Now if you mean Marks of Honor and such, its just under a new system of reputation and Dilithium.

No azurian

Merits/Honor

Remember u bought Boffs with them, 30k for a respec? like 100k of them only converted to about 10k dil, u remember :p

And I want it to replace some things dil is solely used for, like buying ships.... I hate dil for ships (especialy the rediculus numbers) like 128k dil for a T5 ship. That is pretty high, for something u may or may not like. Do u buy a car without a test drive?

But that is Expertise, they just changed the name.

And Fleet ships don't cost Dilithium at all, just Fleet Credits or Fleet Credits and some Fleet Modules. And the non Fleet, Fleet ships are just as good as any other T5 ship.

But azurian, what if I want an Advanced Escort? Not an MVAM, but I used the soverign as my free ship, that's 100k dil, which is MASSIVE. I could prolly buy a C-store ship with 100k Dil. Making the T5 Dil ships cost more then C-Store ships... (really cryptic?)
Expertise doesn't = Merit

Expertise is BOFF skill points, not currency.

When you put it that way it's not, but outside of that little inconvenence the Merit system is still the same. For instance you still need it to train BOFFs.
