I love star trek, and so I do like this game, so I have always been considering buying a lifetime account and supporting the game, but I don't see much benefit. I bought the new romulus pack because it looked like it would be a neat expansion, and it was. However, I realize now I was not looking for what the lifetime pack has to offer.

Things like the new romulus pack and the upcoming DR pack offer a few "unique" and "exclusive" things which is fine for an expansion, but I want something different from a lifetime account: utility and "premium" stuff.

I'd rather pay for things that are useful such as
-max bank slots/inventory slots (possibly on all characters)
-max doff slots
-infinite respect tokens
-permanent boosts in skill points/CXP/fleet marks & credits
-some set amount of extra boff slots & ship slots for all my characters

I'd rather pay for improvement in my gameplay than a few unique trinkets or ships. I realize you do get the 500 zen a month, but even at that rate it would take way to long to max out all these utility or game-limiting aspects.

I, too, have contemplated the Lifetime Account option... particularly when it goes "On Sale" (who doesn't want to save a few bucks?)... But when I review the features and benefits, I just don't see anything I "need" or want so badly that it makes even the Sale price seem worthwhile...
There are still so many unexplored options in-game for non-subscribers... the first which comes to mind being the Broken "Voting Rights" mission on DS9... Why did I spend all that time earning the Diplomatic Rank again..?....
The Biggest thing, for me, however, are the ships... They're all so very.... generic... and the more I play, the less interested I become.. Mind you, I'm not yet a Level 60 Admiral, but I can still READ.. and read the specs I have.. There's not a single T6 ship I've seen, thus far that impresses me enough to want one.
The Fleet Avenger I spent real money to buy Zen, to purchase Fleet Modules, so I could requisition - On Paper, was THE Most-Impressive ship I've seen, in-game... then I bought it.. Equipped it.. Found out it doesn't come with the console that the non-fleet variant does, so I'd have to buy a second one Just to rob that One Component... That's just stupid!
There could easily be "unlockable" Doff Missions options - similar to the Hamlet Production.. They could even be made purchasable with Zen OR Dil... Requiring Fabrication Engineers - Even make a base R&D skill level requirement! Whatever... and have them BUILD that missing Console... OR Combination Consoles!! Any one who's played the episode missions, has done one or two where The Player has to go to this console and remove that piece, then go to somewhere else and collect that part, etc etc.. then use all of those to create something.. why can't there be Doff Missions to make room for more - Read: "Useful" Console configurations... OR Additional Console Slots..? Why should we have to sacrifice a Tac/Eng/Sci position for one or two "decent" Uni Consoles..?

And that's where I keep deciding to NOT BUY the Lifetime Account... I want My Own Ship!.. A ship that is Unique to my character... I want the ability to design and create and modify it However best suits my approach... And when the Lifetime account costs as much as it does, for all the more it currently offers.. I don't feel that's too much to ask for.

Like the aforementioned Console/Doff Missions.. this too could be set up as an Exclusive Reputation System-like scenario, where as a captain, I could "design" my ship, but in order to piece it together, I'd need to "Spend" Dil/Marks/EC to gain new levels of completion.. There are ways to make this happen... And I firmly believe I'm not alone in wanting it.. If it were made as an exclusive feature for Lifetime Subscribers, there would be a sudden wave of new subscriptions.

I got the Lifetime back when the game came out. It went F2P shortly after the 2 year point, so I actually got my money's worth. However, I do agree that for the cost, it is not what it is cracked up to be. If perhapse they permitted Lifers to open lockboxes for free, then it wouldn't be so bad.

The lockboxes sounds like a good idea, but even as an LTSer I would want limits such as 1 a day per account.

Even 1 per day would come to around 3000-3500 equivalent Zen per month, so not very likely.

I'd rather they go back to the pre-F2P of lifers still only earning rewards after the set number of days, and then simply add something every few one or two hundred days. This could then be a box of master keys, or similar other things.
That way, it'd all be one-off things, but would be something. The whole "lifers gain everything on day 1" somewhat prevents adding more things for lifers, since there's little point to it with them getting everything off the bat.
Then again, I may be biased since I've been a lifer from the get-go.

It was just an example.

I would not be opposed to that. Every 100 days getting some perk, such as free lockbox keys.....or the other pre-order items that have not yet been released (via zen) to the general public.

Open beta LTS.

Back when the game came out, okay it had it's issues even then but at least now I'm being paid to play the game essentially. I've made the most of my LTS and it was money well spent.....then.

Now? Don't get me wrong I still play STO but right now it's not exactly 'playing' more 'maintaining'. I log in to do doffing and R&D and that's pretty much it. I run some PVE every so often, plan on crafting and upgrading when I can make it worth my while but that's it. The game has changed since I bought LTS some for the better some for the worst but in it's current state and looking ahead I'd not feel happy doing LTS and even if it was on sale I'd question it.

Priority queuing - okay it's awesome but I could probably count on me hand the number of times that has benefited me.

Captains table - if you want a dead zone that's it.

Other Vet rewards....yes their nice but think about all the LB ships and fleet ships now, the promo ships.

The stipend of 500 zen...yes but considering the cost to get that money back...you're talking over a year maybe nearer two.

I know there are other things like lib borg but most can be off the store gone are the days when stuff was exclusive.

Really I think you're better off spending on the things you really want like bank space or ship slots during sales and you're likely to save much more money. If you really aren't sure take a look at the vet rewards and other things on offer for LTS and ask yourself is that worth it or could you buy what you want for much less. As LTS we get only 10 slots for account bank so chances are you'll have to buy more anyway. I'll lay odds you won't make it worth your while but either way the choice is yours.

no doff slots
no chance for infinite respecs - why this ? well buy respec for free zen
- yeah, it will be realy nice permanent xp/cxp bonus (no chance for fleet marks/ec)
- extra boff/ship slots - not sure, maby you get some, mayby not - but sure it will be nice to have
