Hello,
I am about to purchase the Defiant Retrofit, so I wanted to ask captains of escorts, particularly the Defiant-R, which consoles you would most recommend out of these five, looking for the most important ones, without taking up too many console slots. Oh, keep in mind I'd like to avoid taking any Tac slots, I'd rather use them for energy weapon consoles.

Subspace Jumper
Omega Assimilated Module
Cloak (from the Defiant-R, which I'm about to purchase in the next few days)
Anti-matter spread
Romulan Zero Point energy conduit

I'm currently leveling a Tac captain, and my goal is simple: To annihilate my enemies as quickly and efficiently as possible, in BOTH PVE and PVP.
My thoughts:

The Omega console is almost a MUST. Extra weapon power, extra crit chance and severity, etc, fits my goal perfectly.

Subspace jumper is a pretty nifty console, and I HAVE gotten some pretty good use out it, but is it useful enough to permantly take a console slot?

Cloak I haven't used yet, (haven't quite bought the Defiant-R yet) but I've heard good things. Is this console a really good advantange, and worth taking a console slot?

Anti-Matter spread I've used many times, and it has gotten me out of a jam almost as many times. However, for a Tac in an escort, would it be better to rely on my evasive maneuvers, etc, or to simply respawn, than to take up a slot?

Romulan Zero Point energy conduit seems good. I can tell it boosts my power levels, if only by one. It also would boost my plasma damage, but that wouldn't help me much in PVP, as most top players I assume would have Omega or MACO shields. So is this one of any use for a Tactical escort?

Any other consoled you guys think I should definately use, please let me know.
Thanks!

I rotate 2 console slots depending on what I'm doing.

If it's PvP, I use AMS and Cloak. Or the Romulan Science console with plasma DOT and Cloak.

If it's 1on1 PvP, I use Subspace Jumper and Cloak.

If it's STF, I use Theta and Cloak. Or the Romulan Science console with plasma DOT and Cloak.

If it's Romulan or Fleet missions, I use AMS and Subspace Jumper.

My permanent consoles are Assimilated Module and the Tachyokinetic Converter.

I have the Zero-Point Engergy Conduit, but I do not use it. Currently it's sitting on my Breen ship. It's a nice console for the small energy boost and the 1.8% critical hit (more like 1.7% when used with the Tachyokinetic Converter and Assimilated module). Power insulators is also nice. But, it's not quite enough to get me to use it permanently.

For PvP I use the cloak and the impulse capacitance cell.

For PVE I don't use the cloak and mix and match like point defense and capacitance cell

For STFs ill use point defense and a monotanium Armor against kinetic damage.

For a tac the borg console is a must bc it adds to ctrh and crtd.

I pretty much second him - The consoles will change on what you are doing

On that two notes - AMS is despised on PVP, I only break mine out if someone from the other team is using it. Also if you have to many fun consoles in PVP you might be a target more as the PVP's will view you as very squishy

The three best universal consoles in the game are

1) Borg Universal Assimilated Module
2) Tachyokinetic Converter
3) Zero Point Energy Conduit

If you can afford them, then they are must-have units since they boost your base crit%

I'm impressed. Don't get me wrong I give you credit for being thoughtful, but you're a better person than I lol. I think I'd have a hard time caring if other people don't like me using AMS. I spent my hard earned money on it, and it helps me survive, so why not? Why is it that people despise it anyway?

I'd say just play the game how you want to. It really doesn't matter what other people say or think of you. It's a game.

My console layout looks like this:

Engineering: 2 purple mk xi monotanium alloy console and a purple mk xi ablative hull armor console.

Science: Cloak, Omega Assimilated Module

Tactical: 3x blue mk xi phaser relays, Tachyokinetic converter.

This is a PVE STF build, but it works well for me.
