Most likely I will repeat them on alternate characters. Other than that, they really don't have a lot replay appeal for me as they currently stand.

That said, I have not completed all of the content in either area, so I expect I'll want to do everything at some point just to say that I did.

Also, both areas have some advantages over New Romulus. It's a heck of a lot easier to just dive in if you're looking for a fight. Unlike NR, you don't have to go far or look very long.

On the Con side, some of the gameplay available in NR actually has more than a shred of story attached to it whereas Defera and Nukara feel more like "kill x borg/tholians/orcs" and "rescue x deferi/miners/peasants".

If those zones had an underlying plot that evolved like NR's does, they would be more enjoyable and less like something I'd rather send my Number One in to deal with.

Other Cons:

Nukara would've benefitted from having either a bank or mail terminal or both. Defera Invasion Zone at least has a mail terminal you can use to offload excess inventory if need be.

There is a ....um.....errrr...... feature.... yeah, let's call it a feature, that makes the exterior part of Nukara kinda fun for engineer toons. The ground set that you can put together there is kinda neat, too.

I go to Defera to give my borg ground set a workout without having to complete a linear mission. Just pew pew until I'm tired of it.

There's also another "interesting" feature in the Deferi invasion zone which, put it this way, allows you to bring in some "friends." And I'm not talking about the temporary ones.

Why do I have the feeling that I wish I knew what you guys were talking about and that I shouldn't even ask?

Because technically due to your purple status you are not supposed to engage in that sort of activity.

So inhumane superweapons, mass murder, and canon nonsense is okay, but speedos are too much for some people.

i have to agree these zones have absolutely no long term appeal to me, neither has New Romulus for that matter,
i don't care for the Embassy, those new items / projects could have easily been added to the real Fleetbase instead
and Eppoh Tagging... really?

as long as there is something new, i want to get it done but after that i'm just done with it.

The Deferi and Nukara Boss rooms were fun for 2 or 3 times, but i stopped bothering with it after that. What do i need a EVA Set for when there is no other EVA suit content and the one i really want is the 700 Zen per char Suit from the show anyway now if that had been the Nukara Set visual i would have been all over it... but that brown-ish thing?.

Defera is the best place to test out your ground setup for the ground STFs, earn ECs, get Omega Marks, and test fighting strategies against the Borg. The Fractal Remodulator is a MUST GET!

Nukara is good for the rewards and to test you battle strategies and gear against the Tholians.

Nukara annoyed me at first, but after I got used to fighting the Tholians it's not so bad. Before you even go, pick yourself up a blue Armored EV Suit and a Sonic Antiproton weapon of your choice off the Exchange. I keep the Mk XII Tholian set in my inventory for when I do any EV content (dil mining mostly), or if I want to flatten some Tholians with the Cryo Launcher. I don't wear it normally though, the Crystal Woven suit is generally outclassed by other armors (though it's the best EV suit in the game), the Cryo Launcher mostly makes sense against Tholians, and the shield is just OK.

Regardless, even before I got all that stuff, I could slam through both exterior easy missions and both medium exterior missions in about 15 minutes. Completing a Thinning the Hive zone wide isn't much longer, though the Mineral Matters can be annoying. Then you wait to turn the missions in until the Fleet Marks event is active and rake in the marks. The Hard stuff is fun, but as has been mentioned it's a pain to get a team for it, so I've barely ever played them. I also find the Interior missions obnoxious and mostly ignored it.

My favorite thing about Nukara is the way the Closing Doors mission works. Once you do one, you start getting credit for every portal closed on the map, regardless of who did it. That encourages a kind of organic team play which was at the time unique. If you see somebody trying to close a portal, it does you benefit to either help them close it or cover them from attack. This kind of ad hoc cooperation was duplicated in the New Romulus red alerts, which I think is a wonderful trend.
