# 1 Ships from the TOS era?
01-11-2013, 03:21 PM
I saw on the "Ask Cryptic" and he said they have plans for more ships in the TOS era. This makes me wonder what they are up to. Since the Constitution was the main one used. And we have that already.

Only ones I can think of this the ones from the book. Like the Federation Class Dreadnaught, and the Saladin Class destroyer/escort type with the nacelle under the ship.

Here is where I read it on the report:

Q: (tpai99) Will there be a Fleet version of the Vesta? What about the new ships that you guys design yourself? Will there be more possibilities to create your own ship?

Dstahl: We haven?t made a final decision on the Fleet Vesta, but it is one of the ships we are considering for a Fleet refit. We do have several new ship designs in the works, along with some older designs from both the TOS and Enterprise era. One of our long term goals is to allow Fleets the ability to customize and/or create their own ships, but we want to make more customization parts for existing ships before we implement that.

I'm still squeelin' from that part of His blog...

He said that They can use stuff from the BOOKS, farther down in the blog...

So perhaps the STARFLEET TECHNICAL MANUAL is fair game...

I sure hope so.

Don't forget the Transport pods and Tugs.

Wouldn't it be cool if they created a TOS PvP Zone.

I'd actually attempt PvP again, if They did.

I forgot about TAS, that's part of Their license also... several ships from there, that could be added.

Heh...

That might be in the same category as the Enterprise-J though...

To big to implement as a player ship.

Be cool as something to have to do a special mission on though.

Well... remember it's a CONNIE. It's less than half the length of a Sovereign.

But yeah it'd be big even compared to a Sovy. A smaller version could be playable though. Maybe as a Prometheus knock off? The original has 17 pods. A smaller version with 8-ish pods could have a few of the pods detach to act as combat pets.

They could throw in the Constitution "Phase II" variation into the mix. It looks very similar to the refit, but has a few differences.
