So I was in KASE the other day, we get to Donatra and we stay out of 5km as uaual. She fires off a plasma torpedo spread and it rips through all my shields and hull. Now I am in an escort, but before you say "You're just weak", a torpedo spread should not be capable of destroying me when I'm at full health and shields. So devs, could you please scale back the damage on her torp spreads? I don't like having to use my components all the time because I was one shotted.

You should fire off a EPtS(and possibly a RSP for safe measure) right before they hit and spin your ship so torps have to rip through more than one shield facing. I usually survive without any resist consoles but there are times when she reminds me that I should equip kinetic resists before engaging her, or that I should fire off my lone RSP just in case. I'll usually come out of her torp spread with little damage if I use the RSP, and I'm in a JHAS to boot with it's amazing 1 sci console slot. Granted not all escorts get the turn rate perks of the JHAS but still, you should be able to turn enough for two shield facings to be hit in an escort.

Her torps hurt yes but you can counter their destructive power no problem. It is then a problem if she spreads you again before your abilities are ready and or fully recovered.

Stay in the same 90 degree cone as other players, the spread hits multiple ships instead of one, thus doing less damage to you.

Use tactical team and other defensive buffs like brace for impact.

I actually had the logs going today. Me in a Vesta, 32.5k hull. Gobbled a "torpedo" hull hit that spend 6k punching a slightly downed shield and still had enough oomph to slap 27.8k hull off my ship. Doing the math right after that hit indicated that said torpedo ate off 93.something% from full health.

And this wasn't a HY (aka big, slow, and shoot-downable), but a "normal" torp/bolt that does the high-speed traversal...

They said that borg torps won't crit anymore, but they still have a high-ish damage range. Saying a baseline 40k, magnified by the spread's 1.15 modifier into a 46k hit. Escorts don't have all that much more hull than sciences, so I can see one of these killing a full-strength escort as a "one hit kill", and plasma spreads are still fast-enough travelling that you'd have to BFI as soon as you see the effect start, nevermind ascertaining if the spread even picked you out of the group to be defended against - and spread cools quicker than BFI...

Still at it. CBS "restrictions" fell by wayside with freebie Breen. Time to re-examine ENT and ToS at tier 5, repurpose the Connie into Sci and rebuild an Akira escort into the "NX". 6 "eras", spread evenly over all the classes...

Its not just the build, but also how the player handles the situation. Player should be actively maneuvering to get in the tail section of donatra's ship. Also when a spread is seen, they should hit TT, epts, aux2sif/RSP, and whatever buff they might have without being greedy and try to 'save' the buffs for later. Brace for impact especially helps. Khitomer space is not exactly a new STF. Its been known for a while that donatra's ship is more than capable or one-shotting player ships caught with their guard down, and not just by the thalaron projector. By the title of the post, it becomes obvious that the player is new to the game.

Now if the devs actually listened to the newbs and nerfed stuff everytime one died and cried OP, i think i would rather go play hello kitty adventures

Im not gonna spend alot of time on it:

Armor consoles
Armor skills
EPtS
BFI
Defense (were you stopped?)
Many other skills that will help reduce damage.

You might need to adjust your ship and/or character build. Donatra is already a joke, if anything she needs a massive buff.

my only problem with the plasma spread was on the odd occasion she will instantly follow up with a regualr torp spread, (from what i could see.. green AOE explosions then orange followed by the smouldering wreck of a buffed sci voquv :p)

Well don't just sit there and wait for him to shoot you, as soon as his ship is turning to get you in his forward firing arc GTFO. Brace for impact also works very well.

...could also be your build- my tac/raptor usually withstands this attack. Usually.
