If I'm not mistaken, a Saber is supposed to be about 30% larger than a Defiant

We can solve that and many another problems.... we can set warp nacelles to ESD and give it to any players (by no less 100.000 Zen points). This way, a "federation ship" can use several and very bigger pets.

Of course that is a joke

Exist many ship can take the role of pets, saber class and aquarius are a better option than defiant class (too powerfull... or at least must be).

Another option is make an Command fleet cruiser that can call ships from Star Fleet (as a carrier launch their fighters).

Or even that Command option can be a console (on DS9 we see defiant flanked by two miranda sub-classes as escorts); this console can add commands ui and have the ussual 3 min CD.

Thought of another idea actually. Make a new Caitian skin for the playable Aquarius, and stick ships with that skin in the Atrox as its frigate pet if there must be one.

But then what to do with the Ho'sus... there's already a fleet B'rel so we can't merge it into that.

The Defiant could easily fit on the Atrox, the Defiant is small. Not sure if it could fit on a Escort Carrier though.
I think it should be the opposite...The Atrox is as useless as a bucket in empty space. Would be nice if the Atrox could fit as a hangar for the defiant instead

Just kidding... since the comparison is beyond comprehension....this carrier is useless as the Dread cruiser and should be scrapped off for metal instead IMO

Devs need to come up with better FED carriers.

You place ship, boats and aircraft on a carrier because they don't have the range or speed a carrier has as well as not being able to support, refuel or rearm themselves. Both the Defiant and the B'rel have the capability to do so. So why waste room on a carrier for ships that can just fly next to it without any limitations?

While I'd love to see a bit more sturdier Fed carrier pets, I'd really hate if they turned out to be Defiants.

An Atrox-only, unique caitian-design, heavy carrier pet would be the better alternative.
Federation ships do need fuel from time to time.

The defiants could be used for medium range missions instead of flying over the whole ship therefore saving fuel and supplies and extending the long range capability of the Jupiter or Atrox.

. This is on top of the fact the defiant is more powerful and durable than the Aquarius. Adding 1 or 2 defiants to the inventory increases combat and non combat effectiveness.

Non cloaking,
Cannon Rapid Fire II
Torp High Yield I

and getting 1 per hangar bay when launched and only being able to support ONLY 1 per hangar bay would make this something I would agree to... but still the idea is a bit far fetched and I want to point out that the Defiant scale makes it so large as to not be something that could be carried by another ship UNLESS they retooled the size of the ship (Atrox) Carrier

Speaking of scale, Danubes look like they'd smash into both the nacelles of my Vesta when they launch, heh.

No, they dont.

They use matter/anti-matter reactors, they dont need to resupply for a long time.

Fuel supply and range veries alot between ship times. A defiant isn't going to have the range of a Cruiser.

Cruisers have bigger warp cores and more storage space, some Science Ships are designed for long term missions as well, carrier and normal science ships, and enigeering aligned Escorts next and finally tac and science escorts.

On the Klingon side Flight Deck Cruisers, Battle Cruisers, Carriers and Fleet Support Ships, Naus Destroyers, Raptors, and BoPs for Range.
