Today is January 17, or as some would say, 17 January,... 17.01!
Trek Radio DJs TimeWarp & Nydra, hosts of Captain's Table, are celebrating 17.01 as the anniversary of STO F2P as well as the day of the starship in honor of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701.
One of the goals of the Captain's Table broadcast is to explore and promote storytelling. From today until Feb. 2, 2013, TimeWarp & Nydra invite STO players to email them meaningful stories behind your starship name. Is your ship named in honor of a mythical figure, a historical event, a beloved pet, or something significant to you? They will read some of these emails on-air and will even invite some players to join them live on the show to tell the community about the meaning behind your ship names.
But wait! There's more!
From Jan. 17 to Feb. 3, participating emails will be entered into a drawing to win the Cold Equations novel trilogy signed by Star Trek author David Mack! One winner will receive the three novels ("The Persistence of Memory," "Silent Weapons," and "The Body Electric") each signed with a personalized inscription by David Mack.
For more information, warp over to TrekRadio.net, and be sure to tune in to Captain's Table to listen to great music and hear stories from your fellow captains about the starships on which we boldly go forward into the final frontier.
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.
