Hello, I don't remember how I got this idea, but I think it was taken from some comics.

In those comics, some characters shifted (some of) their mass into an other dimension to enter an energy state or grow taller or smaller etc..

So I thought abouth using this ability as a console for ships, especially Escort ships like the Galaxy or Odyssey with very poor turn rate and maneuverability.

This console, maybe Aux powered, shifts some of the ship's mass into an other dimension for the ship to gain more movement. Depending on the console's level, more and more mass each level will be shiftet and more and more maneuverability the ship gains.

What do you guys think?

First off, ships like the Galaxy and Odyssey are Cruisers, not Escorts

And second... that is a very interesting idea, but I admit in practice, it sounds like another version of the RCS Accelerator: you gain some boost to your turn rate, this time by shifting some of your mass instead of directly improving your standard turning ability

damn.. I meant cruisers..

I heard a lot of negative talk about the RCS Accs. That even they come to a limit when it's about an Odyssey ship.

The Mass Shift console could effect the whole ship, it could make it quicker, faster turnable, the EPS Flow could be better now that the ship has less mass. Or any other sci gimmick I haven't figured out yet.

Well, the reason the RCS doesn't work well is because it's a percentage-based console... meaning the higher your turn rate, the higher benefit you get (ie Cruisers don't benefit nearly as much, if at all).

But I'd like it if your Mass-Shift console idea was a fixed faster-turning console myself Say... +3 turn rate at the highest level, and have a 'Only one can be equipped at any time' lock on it, otherwise it'd be overpowered.

Yes, that was what I meant. Not percentage but a fix +X for a Y turn rate.
