Honestly speaking you could get the Steam Runner for half price at the moment and its stats are slightly superior to the Fleet Defiant. Food for thought if you cannot find a fleet to help you out!

It may still be worth it in the end. Presently doing PVP camp and the powers that be list it as one of the best escorts to own. It is higher in stat's too than Tier III escorts and it also comes with a bunch of goodies that you could use on your other lower tier toons.
The pack includes two ships (VA level and one beginner ship); weapons, shields, two Green level officers, etc... It also has some console that allows you to boost your shield strength considerably for a short period of time (and that of your friends too).
Whatever you choose be weary of fleets looking to fleece you just to give you two minutes to pop in and out to buy a ship.

Ah ok Im going to think about it and just use my old defiant until then but going to delete this post I didn't know there was fleets about doing this
