Yep. From the wiki: The Photonic Shockwave Torpedo moves at the same speed as a normal torpedo and is not targetable. When it detonates it triggers a Photonic Shockwave that disables and repels targets in the area of effect.
Photonic Shockwave, for anyone that doesn't know: The Photonic Shockwave ability emits a blast of a 3 km radius around your ship, knocking back enemy ships, inflicting kinetic damage as well as disabling enemy ships for a couple of seconds. Shields drastically reduce the effect of kinetic damage.
So basically, Feds get a torp that can (theoretically) make a hole in the shields by itself, so the actual torpedo impacts on bare hull.
We get a torp that, if it hits shields, has most of its secondary ability nullified by said shields.
Meh, Just eject a warp core in its general direction.
Works every time.
Wait... Ejecting the warp core works for everyTHING, too....

SPOILER ALERT The villain from Into Darkness is Kirk's 1/2 - or - step brother Johnny.

They try but you gotta be a super noob to fall for that especially since most people are cloaked in pvp are using some kind of bop which is usually using some kind of hyper impulse or use engine battery + evasive and they got no chance at decloaking with that.
Reminds me too for us with the little torpedo thingy we get its utterly useless because we don't really have much use for using something that only goes after klingon cloaked ships much less KDF sci's have sensor scan but yet its utterly useless for decloaking because we don't really fight anything that cloaks lol. So its easy to see the fed toons always are getting the better deal.
How long until they start crying you can't use high-yield or spread with it?
And how long until Cryptic let them
The irony of this is that after the lockbox was announced, and the inevitable (yes it's inevitable, time to harden up a bit) launch of the next cross-faction console - there have been 2 threads already in the KDF subforums complaining about it and not even a blip on the radar anywhere else.
I get criticized for posting against the grain like this but the truth is I try not to read the KDF subforums at all at this point because it makes me not want to play my KDF characters.

There were some Canon Fed threads during the speculation period. Bio-Neural simply doesn't make sense for the Federation in the sense of what it is. Even though I figured it would be Bio/Nadeon after the changes to Nadeon - with that I still figured they'd have to retool the description of the Bio-Neural before giving it to the Feds.
Still, there have been a few discussions about it. Feds complaining that they got Bio while the KDF got Nadeon. KDF complaining that they got Nadeon while the Feds got Bio. Each thinking the other got the better deal...it's kind of funny, eh?
Like having two kids, siblings - one that likes chocolate and one that likes strawberry ice cream. Give the strawberry to the chocolate kid and chocolate to the strawberry kid, they're both going to complain. Might as well be Ford v Chevy, AMD v Intel, etc, etc, etc.

kdf does have a ligitamet right to complane. the remaining consoles to be cross factioned have no real use for kdf. PSW? i had completey forgot that it existed until i saw the notes because of its lack of use. never seen anyone ever use the grappler ever, the seeker torp it practically useless to the kdf since only 2 fed ships have cloaks and there are far easier ways to disable engins. any more cross faction consoles will only hurt the kdf while taking away the unique gear for them. as for the leach? if feds get that it will be worse than the kdf because every fed will use it to get back at the kdf and the whole game will be one giant power suckfest.
it is my opinion that more cross faction consoles will kill or severely harm the kdf an already small and limited faction in terms of ship versatility due to the feds larger number of ships and player base

That's just laziness on Cryptic's part. All they needed to do was change the flavor text.
The Bio-neural warhead doesn't even come from any Klingon source in canon so I don't even believe it makes sense for Klingons as they were presented in the shows.
It's only this game where the KDF has been made into some bizarre evil monster race where things like the Bio-neural warhead and plasmonic leech suddenly make sense (although some factions of Klingon houses in the shows/movies seem ready to stoop to the level of using weapons like this, it never seemed like that was a universal trait across all Klingons)

You can't have both, either you are getting the short end of the stick and trading your awesome consoles for the relatively crappier Fed consoles or you are not losing anything because apparently KDF doesn't have better toy consoles (paraphrasing what other posters sometimes say).
So which is it? Does the KDF have clearly better toy consoles that they are "losing" or do they not?

So, if I read it right, you blame feds for having trash consoles, that Cryptic sells them right ? Hillarious.
Ok then, on the behalf of whole fed faction, I sincirely apologize, that Cryptic sells us trash consoles in lowbie ships.
I've always said it was a balancing thing, a rationalization of sorts if one will... the KDF got the better consoles because the Feds got the better ships. It's how Cryptic went around "trying" to balance things as well as trying to sell more things.
If the Feds maintain the better ships while also picking up the better consoles, it's not hard to see where the KDF would complain...no?
Perhaps above and beyond just the consoles being crossfaction - the consoles should have had ship modifiers applied to them.
Say you have a Better Ship with a Worse Console.
And you have a Worse Ship with a Better Console.
The Better Console on the Better Ship would be Worse than the Better Console on the Worse Ship.
The Worse Console on the Worse Ship would be Better than the Worse Console on the Better Ship.
That sort of thing, eh?
