Slow patching in the launcher
A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I played STO last night no problem yet today I log in, it launches the patcher, then I click launch, the screen goes black...STO music comes up but the screen is still black....
I move the mouse around and I can hear as if the cursor was making contact with menu items ...but the screen remains black.
What did the devs do in whatever small patch that was that farked this up?

Its related to screen resolution somehow.
Launching game in its safe mode works. Launching the game in resolution matching the desktop resolution works.
Changing resolution to anything different will cause an instant black screen while the game is still running.
