Don't quote me on it, but I recall reading somewhere that nobody was allowed to make a new Trek series until Abrams was done with his three movies. If he's decided not to do a third, we might get a new series five years earlier than before.
Precisely. The sooner JJ goes somewhere else, the sooner Star Trek goes into the hands of someone else. Someone far more open to a new television series perhaps?

So inhumane superweapons, mass murder, and canon nonsense is okay, but speedos are too much for some people.

I think it is great that Abrams has signed up to carry on Lucas's work on those children's movies.

Apparently he's still going to be doing a third Trek movie.

How can he have time for all these projects?!?

That says he'll be a producer, not direct. The director will be the one who really sets the tone of the film.

That's bad enough.

Well, if JJ doesn't kill Trek with the third film, will it truely be strong enough to carry on?

# 58 J.J. Abrams And 'Star Wars

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/170...eactions.jhtml

So with Abrams directing BOTH Star Wars and Star Trek, imagine if there were a crossover?

We might finally get our answer to the question, " Who would win ?"

I'm not too sure if I'm happy with him at the helm of both franchises.

What do you think?
PLEASE fix the Dauntless. See suggestion below

For all the grief he gets on this forum, I think Mr. JJA is an excellent director. Looking forward to all his works, especially the upcoming, Into Darkness!
