It is a pleasure to see the player base working with the Developers to get to the root of a problem so that a solution can be developed. Hopefully this cooperative process will continue to address other issues in the game in a prompt manner. Maybe the Development team could free Borticus' time one day a week/2weeks/month to work on issues like this with the "mathy" community members, as needed.

At close range they would still be useful. And not everyone is going to run FAW all the time -- ships that run beams have 1-3 tactical slots and there are a few other useful abilities that compete for them.
If it's too much of a problem, I could see torpedoes getting adjusted a bit, but I'd be glad to see the rest of the spam taking a bit more damage.
I don't think we need to worry too much about FAW being too OP seeing as it will also serve to pre-buff fleet shields.
In most cases, yes. In other cases, the phaser proc will serve to drop shields. Heck, if it's an overall proc thing - there's even that itty bitty chance for Victory to take subsystems offline. There are all sorts of cases where FAW spam could introduce all sorts of RNG mishaps into the game that were missing because it was not working as intended...

With the assistance of one of our Programmers, we think we've uncovered the issue at hand.
Suffice it to say, Enhancements from weapons (like [Acc] mods, but also includes [Dmg], [CrtD], etc, as well as Procs) aren't being properly inherited by all powers in all circumstances. I'm hesitant to post more details than that until we have a working fix, which is unlikely to happen internally until next week at the earliest.
So, stay tuned! I'll let you all know what's going on, once we have made more progress internally.

There's always the KHG field to add to the defense of the destructible torp, maybe more ways but I'm too braindead right now to think it through. Plus the Omega ones are like what, 4k hp? Those'll laugh off at least one hit I think.
