We need one. And if you decide not to retroactively upgrade the one we get from the 1000 day status, make it only cost 1 FSM. Now on to buisness.

It should have a 3rd Science Slot. Or possibly upgrade an Lt to a LtC. That would be more interesting.

Make a new costume variant for each. On the Chimera side, I'd really like to see beefy impulse engines on the saucer; Sorta like the Enterprise-B engines on the Excelsior.

We'll most likely get a fleet version. An extra science console seems likely. There would be a boost to it's hull and shields. There would be no change to the Boff slots and a variant costume seems unlikely.

I would also like to see a chimera on par with fleet variants as it's a nice ship but most VA ships performed certain roles better and compared to the new lockbox ships and other fleet ships it just pales. 2 options though, it could either get a fleet version or you could upgrade them all to 10 console slots and 10% more hull and shields.

I'd rather it just kept getting upgraded if they aren't going to bring out anymore vet rewards as it will at least see the light of day occasionally instead of getting mothballed.

Well, somebody has to be able to keep the Galaxy-R's from feeling lonely

If... and this is a big IF, we do get a fleet version, it is highly unlikely that the fleet version will have the ability to equip the Console that comes with the 1,000 Day Veteran version. The reason I say this is because if it did, then the Fleet Version of the Chimera would have to by default come with the innate ability that the 1,000 Day Veteran version has. Unfortunately to date I cannot think of a single fleet ship (other than the Heavy Escort Carrier Fleet Variant) that comes with an innate built in ability other than what is provided by Consoles and Bridge Officers. And in the case of the FHEC, that ability is necessary for it to still function in the role of an Escort Carrier. The Chimera's ability is not necessary for a fleet variant other than that people would just complain if it didn't have it.

So ultimately you will have to decide which is better, the version we have now, or a version of the ship with better shields, hull and console placement, but which is lacking the innate ability and ability to equip the Chimera Custom Console.

Especially since you would still be required to be a 1,000 day veteran just to get the console, seeing as how I don't see them handing out the Console via the Fleet Shipyards.

The Fleet Heavy escort carrier is the same as the other fleet ships as far as I can tell, the C-Store version comes with a torpedo point defense which you don't get with the fleet version. However the fleet version has an extra console slot and an extra 10% hull and shield hp.

Most people will say that the torpedo point defense is not great, it has uses like drawing aggro from enemies without having to change targets (ISE when everyone is focusing on the transformer) but it doesn't tend to do much damage. I find things like theta radiation, subspace jump or isometric charge to be more useful.

Helixsunbringer, this is why I'd prefer they just upped the chimera to bring it in line with fleet ships, they did it with the JHAS which arguably didn't need it to stay kind of escorts, it would be nice if they did it with the chimera too.

Yeah poor Galaxy-R but even if it had a fleet version (which will probably come out at some point) it still has a mostly useless 3rd ensign engineering station. Only thing you can put there is another emergency power to X ability and engineering team, both of which are not needed in most builds. Shame as I like the galaxy as I loved TNG, nothing to do with being from Yorkshire honest =P

Fleet Excelsior (innate Transwarp), and Fleet B'Rel (innate Enhanced Battle Cloak) have been added to the fleet system.

No you missed the point. Both the Heavy Escort Carrier and the Chimera come with an innate ability aside from just their C-Store Consoles.

In the case of the Chimera that innate ability is "Regenerative Mode" which grants +30 Shield Systems. You do not need the Console that comes with the Chimera in order to access Regenerative Mode. In other words you can have access to Regenerative Mode even if you do not have the Dynamic Tactical Systems Console equipped to the ship.

In the case of the Heavy Escort Carrier, the innate ability is the Hangar and Pet Commands. You do not need the Point Defense Console to access those Pet Commands or the Hangar.

Now what I was saying, was that the Hangar & Pet Commands are essential to the Heavy Escort Carrier, and thus removing them would make the Fleet Version no longer count as a Heavy Escort Carrier. However, removing the Regenerative Mode from the Chimera would not intrinsically remove it's status as a Heavy Destroyer. That status is conferred by the amount of Hull, Shields, and Weaponry the ship has. Not by any special innate abilities it may or may not have.

Thus it is my opinion, that if they were to create a fleet version of the Chimera, they would not give it the original Chimera's Regenerative Mode innate ability. Thereby removing it's capacity to equip the Dynamic Tactical Systems Console. However even if I am wrong, they would not release the Dynamic Tactical Systems Console on the Fleet Version. Meaning you would still be required to have a Lifetime Membership to get that Console either way.

I will give you the Fleet B'Rel. But I have the Fleet Excelsior, and I cannot find the Innate Transwarp on it (and I have looked).

Extra transwarp locations beyond Diplomacy unlocks (such as Tau Dewa) should show up in your Transwarp menu with that ship.

I'd contact a GM if you're not seeing any there. The extra Transwarp locations are why the ships cost 5 modules base price.

Both the Phaser Lotus and Tachyon Lotus are tied to the console. The only innate ability the Chimera has is the superior Odyssey slipstream.
