# 1 NPC D'deridexs need a nerf

ok, I am sorry if this is the wrong forum, I have been debating where I should put this.

The NPC D'deridex battleships have this move where if you get close to them, they effectively insta-kill you. EVERY time. The lock a tracker beam on you and fire enough plasma torps to kill your ship. This seems to happen no matter how much hull and shields you have. They tracker you and you are dead.

I think this needs to change. I hate going up against them for this one move.

I am working on the "Ground Zero" mission and it is all but impossible for me to complete for this one move and the fact that everytime I die, the Ship re-heals itself and I have to start over.

You are fighting in cramped space anyways, as you are near the end of the map.

I am not usually one to cry nerf. I know there is some skill involved, but having to basically run-away so I can stay beyond 5 km or whatever the distance is, is absolutely no fun. Honestly, I hate NPC D'deridex and loathe whenever they are in a mission for this insta-kill move.

keep an engie team to fix viral matrix & dont get within 5km
use tab key to target torps quickly.
Cryptic.
Figure out and address the players path of least resistance to reward. this one thing is THE consistent factor undermining all your efforts. be that crafting, raids or starbase projects.

Hell, even just flying intelligently can get you past the major issues with a D'd. Stay outside 5km to avoid the tractor. The distance also gives you more room to react to the Plasma salvo. If you can stay in its aft arc you won't have to worry about VM either, IIRC, though admittedly that does take a bit more doing than just playing keep-away.

So it sounds like what I need is more BoFFs. *sigh* I was really hoping to get my fed on test up to 30 this week, but I am thinking this isn't going to happen. I don't have all those powers currently, and those Boff recruiting assignments never seem to fall.

BTW, I realize this is a noob question, but what is APO?

Attack Pattern Omega. Nice little trick. Not one I ever learned to use well outside of using it as a GTFO button for borg tractors, but I understand it's invaluable for Escorts in most cases.

I never had a problem with the old D'D. Now the Tac cube in STFs since S7 on the other hand

Unlike the Borg or most NPC in this game, the Romula NPC is the only on that you actually have to think and do a little extra to fight....but noooo let's just Nerf it because it's to hard.


This is why STF are too easy, and Cryptic just buff up the HP and damage instead of making the Borg smarter.
