It was, in fact, fairly insane. My build for the Recluse (then and now) is basically Elite Scorpion Fighters + Fleet Advanced Plasma Beam Arrays, the Experimental Romulan Plasma Beam Array, and the Romulan Plasma torpedo launcher and the sheer number of plasma torpedoes in space at any one time was enough to murderize anything that you ran across.

Still is, really. Mediocre in PVP or PVE against multiple shielded targets, the Elite Scorpions are still murder against large, unshielded Borg installations in eSTFs.

None of them, lock boxes aren't canon.

for shear versatility, i'd say the D'Kora is the best lockbox ship followed up closely by the Galor.

I only say the Galor because of the beam arrays, which you can't get w/o the Galor. That alone makes the Galor a highly desirable prize.

Dkora is my top choice cause its the swiss army knife of ships. It does it all and does it all reasonable well.

Gotta vote for the Recluse. Most of the other ships are just enhanced versions of cruiser/escort/science ships with some extra flavoring. The Recluse, with that universal commander, can be a standard science carrier, or turned into a fed-style engineering slow tank that spits out fighters, or a weird hybrid attack ship like the Karfi. There's just nothing else quite like it.

D'kora huh? Perhaps I should dust mine off. I have the 3 peice set for it and some nice Tetryon Weps. I have been considering useing it with the Romulan set from the Rep system and the Romulan Plasma weps. So how to you guys run yours. Do you use the mine launcher and rocket launcher? do you use the 2 Ferengi consoles with it aslo?

Best Lockbox ship would be Wells or Galor, I see those doing best in pvp compared to others.

Not to many lobi ships yet still but both the Recluse and Mobius is good, the Jemhadar dreadnought not so good.
Correct,I got the Jem bug opening up a duty officer pack.I have never purchased keys for lockboxes. However, I had a TAC toon with some pretty lousy Doffs, and was EC, and Dil strapped. So, I had some left over Zen from a ship purchase, and grabbed a few Doff packs. I was totally shocked the second one I opened had the Jem bug in it.
I have to say, it is a sweet ship. The lockbox ships never really appealed to me,I can see the appeal if you had an alien toon whose iconic race ship was a lockbox ship. For aesthetics I like the Galor, and the Marauder. It's a coin toss to me on which one is better.

addendum: it BECAME a special-event ship, it STARTED in a lockbox for the first go-round, which is how most Pre-S7 owners got it (that, and buying them off the exchange for exhorbitant amounts).

and I'll stand by what I said, it's the one ship out there that has zero defects and outpowers every other. Its movement to a different revenue/gambling scheme doesn't change that it was among the FIRST of the lockbox ships.

The most major downside, other than the special console, in my opinion, is the +5 to Aux and +10 to weapons. It would probably be better with just +15 to weapons. Either way, it's a very very strong esecort. Perhaps not up to the level of the JHAS, but still certainly not objectionable at all.
+1 on Mobius Temporal Destroyer... an absolutely amazing purchase and one that has inevitably ruined all other ships for me including the Breen ship (which despite some complaints I think is a strong second!). The bridge layout is second to none.

Edit: P.S. Unlike the Wells you can load DHC on the Temporal Destroyer...

You almost HAVE to use the Battle Module 3000 to make DHCs work on that thing. Going into Battle Mode makes a big difference. You could do it without it, but it's gonna be hurting on turn rate.

I use mine with 3 DHCs and 3 Turrets, and the Ferengi set for PvE. The rare times I PvP with it, I take that off and switch in the Omega torp/cutting beam/borg console set.

I opened a few odd boxes I had in bank earlier and without realizing what I got at first, got a box with one of those Galor ships.

Haven't tried it in combat yet but those beams looks interesting.
