I wasn't so much meaning 'Dreadnought' in how navies term it, but more just adding in the 'Dreadnought-level' ships that are in the game. I don't so much care about 'escort layouts' with 'cruiser tanking' or anything. I more look at it as them having the freedom to experiment in a way by adding in new and different things, the ships wouldn't, IMO, have to have 'big guns' or anything.

It seems to me that everyone who demands a true dreadnought or battleship just wants a cruiser with weapons like DHCs with a bigger arc and higher level boff slots than is standard for nearly every ship. It's not necessary for the game. It'd also be too unbalancing. It'd be the only ship people would want to command because it could do damage like an escort and tank like a cruiser.
Maybe Heavy Turrets could accomplish some of this. Dreadnaught only. Less than DHC, more than turrets.

It seems to me that an OP who writes "more ships like the Jem 'Hadar Dreadnought" will probably mean ships like, well. The Jem'Hadar Dreadnought.

I really don't agree that the Chel Grett can tank like a cruiser.

Then he must mean more carriers, right? Because that's all the Jem'Hadar dreadnought really is.

I doubt we'll see a flyable Scimitar, because the thalaron weapon would be too overpowered to give to players and players wouldn't stand for having the ship without the weapon or a heavily nerfed version of it. Imagine if you got the thalaron weapon with your Scimitar and it did as much damage as a heavy graviton beam. That's what Cryptic would give you. I'd bet on the D'deridex being made the carrier of the Romulan faction due to its sheer size though. The Mogai would be the cruiser and the bird of prey would be the escort.

I think Cryptic have all but confirmed that the Jupiter will not be added anytime soon, if at all. I think it's time they threw the Jupiter model in the junk heap and used the Odyssey for all Federation npc flagship instances.

I noticed the Jupiter class is rarely shown on the game now. Used to I would catch a few of them here and there in the cut scenes or have to blow one up with my KDF. I mostly see the typhoons as the bigger ship the Feds send to my KDF for fodder. The other day I even saw a Galaxy X Dreadnought in a cut scene. Which is the first time I ever saw it as a NPC form. Also I did happen to catch a few of the Odyssey in action. Which I never really saw much of before either.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of the Dreadnoughts come out for players.

I would like to point your attention to the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought's Bridge Officer Station and Console layout:

4 Tactical Consoles
Com Tac
Lt Tac

Sure it is more fragile than a cruiser, but what makes it a "battleship" is its offensive capability.

Which would be quite high despite the low turn rate, if beams were not underpowered.

I hope so. If they have lol-loadouts and stats like the current one, they'll make big fat and juicy targets.

How many of those have you faced in PvP yet? Can you imagine how these beasts could strike if the beams were not as underwhelming as they currently are?

Logically, any further dreadnaughts should only appear when we can finally reach Fleet Admiral rank because then you can soup them up and turn them into fleet flagships.

I fully expect Fleet Admiral ships to end up with 2 commander level slots, it was done before when the Retrofit Defiant was first introduced but caused insane complaints.
Although, it was really because it was the one and only ship to get 2 commander slots at the time. A whole new level system with ships to go around would work out and suddenly you can have a new market for new ship variations.

It's funny how many times this happens to your threads, eh? They seem pretty clear to me...but they end up going all over the place.

We had the Vo'quv - which actually is a Dreadnought.
We had the Bortasqu' - which is actually a Dreadnought.
We had the Galaxy-X Dreadnought.
They added the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier.

There are certain "Battleship" ships that are likely to be introduced at "Dreadnought" level as well as any Dreadnoughts.

Gorn Zilant, Hirogen Apex, Nausicaan Talon, Orion Slavemaster, Reman/Romulan D'deridex, Federation Typhoon...will those battleships be introduced as battleships or dreadnoughts?

Breen Rezreth Destroyer, Breen Rezreth Siege Destroyer, Fek'Ihri Drek'Hi, Gorn Balaur, Hirogen Huntmaster, Nausicaan Ravager, Orion Warbarge, Reman/Romulan Scimitar...will those dreadnoughts be introduced?

How much of this is going to revolve around the level cap increase?

Will we also see a Borg Tactical Cube, Tholian Tarantula, or even an Undine Tethys?

Given the combination of what they did with the Winter Event and Dominion Lockbox, one can easily imagine a Breen Lockbox where they add the Sarr Theln and the Rezreth. That would be another Dreadnought level boat right there...

But again, how will this interact with the eventual level cap increase? It's already silly, imho, that we have Escorts on par or better than the Dreadnoughts in the game. Are we going to add even more Dreads...making it look that much sillier as time goes along.
Maal, Klingon, Mogh - Vegar, Orion, Marauder - R'ebel, Romulan, Haakona
Willard the Rat, Reman, F.T'varo - Rave, J.Trill, Kar'Fi - Mysk, Gorn, Varanus
Kopor, Nausicaan, Guramba - Nivuh, Ferasan, B'rel - Venit, Lethean, M.Qin
