So, I'm watching Take Me Out To The Holosuite on the YouTubes.

I won't bother going over it because this being STO I'm pretty confident you're familiar with everything DS9. But the question in the comments was posed, "Where was Garak?" since he had all of the traits required for sports: Cunning, tough, willing to cheat his butt off.

My theory was that Sisko asked him, he suggested poisoning the Vulcans before the game, and Sisko decided to go with Rom after all. You?

He might've been busy making the uniforms?

Garak was probably busy doing...... whatever the hell Garak usually is doing. Which can range from hemming pants to blowing Romulan Senators away...


Maybe we don't want to know? XD

Maybe he just didn want to play baseball?

He might find it more insidious than root-beer.

Probably wasn't in the budget to have both him and the Vulcan captain in the same episode.

Or Andrew Robinson had other commitments that week.

He could have made the baseball outfits or was sending secret messages to the obsidian order lol

Sisko hired him to plant a bomb on the Vulcan's ship while everyone was at the game and then alter the records to say the Niners won.

It was just done offscreen

Sisko: "Mr. Garak, how are those uniforms coming along?"

Garak: "Wonderfully Captain. As you can see, I've allowed for a place to hide a garrote in the cap."

Sisko: "...."

I figure that the Sisko's insistence on fair play caused him to decide NOT to ask Garak. He knows Garak is even shiftier than a changeling....
