For an Engscort?

The New Orleans is a Frigate - not a Cruiser. It's smaller than a Steamrunner.

Though, with adding the Norway as an Escort - would they add the New Orleans as one? Or would it end up being more along the lines of a Science Vessel? Kind of along the lines of how certain patrol frigates went science instead of tactical?

With all the ships, current, old, and new - it's going to get kind of overwhelming out there to have all of them (outside of T5 versions of certain ships not being available).

Have to wonder, if we won't see something done if/when they increase the level cap and if/when they add space away teams.

For many of the remaining ships, one could easily see them relegated to Space Away Team Ships. If they limit the Tier that your SAT can fly - limit the Type - etc, etc, etc. Could see them adding things like the Federation Escort Pack, Federation Cruiser Pack, Federation Science Vessel Pack, Federation Mixed Operations Pack, etc, etc, etc.

Heck, could see them treating it like a TCG - where you'd get random ships in the pack, people would trade them, etc, etc, etc...

Who knows , i do doubt we'll see a random element brought in though , would be too like the lockboxes .
personally , for me the more ships their are in game the better , as long as they make them all competitive

I would rather see any new canon ships entering the game as skin variants for existing ones. The shipyard is getting rather crowded now.

Actually, the Steamrunner and the New Orleans are close in size to the Cheyenne and the Intrepid.

I wouldn't mind seeing the New Orleans, the Challenger, and the Yeager. For the KDF, I wouldn't mind seeing the Qang class battleship, Karas class strike/light cruiser, and the Vakk class heavy cruiser, (they are from the Gorkon novel series).

The more TNG ships I see, the more I like the Constitution.

Some of the missing ships would be little more than kitbash options, no doubt. Others though, well - they're just too different.

Even there, though - it also gets into the possibility of additional "Mirror"-like ships - different kitbashes for the same BOFF layouts.

Heck, look at the new Kamarag. It's a kitbash of the K't'inga, Vor'cha, and Vor'Kang.

The shipyard is definitely going to get more crowded...and that's not even taking into account non-shipyard ships. There's going to be more and more ships...it's going to get more and more crowded.
