I remember reading somewhere ages ago that there were plans (long-term) to release all of the Wolf 359 ships, the Freedom, Niagara, Challenger and your precious New Orleans.

To be honest, I think they missed out when they released the Steamrunner. From comparison charts, the Steamrunner and Norway are practically the same size. If they designed a third ship to merge with these two, they could have released another class of ship with three-way customization.

Either way, I'd like to see the Norway (just because it's a 24th Century design) though I'd hope they scale it better than they have the Steamrunner. Last I saw one, it was far too big.

I, too, have been waiting for the New Orleans class. Here is a link with a good bit of information gleaned from multiple sources.

Comparing the Galaxy and the New Orleans using only stats from ditl.org, the new orleans should be 4 times maneuverable as a galaxy class in combat. However realistically, it would only be 2 to three times as much in STO for purposes of maintaining KDF, Fed PVP balance. I'd say give it a turn-rate between 10 and 14 and make it a destroyer class like the Chel Grett.

Aside from the Ambassador, I've also been asking for the New Orleans since about 2011. It has a much sleeker overall look because it's nacelles are much less bulkier than the Enterprise D's.
=^= Starfleet Code Red Message =^= Starfleet intelligence's central network was compromised by an insidious ARC virus. All captains are to avoid contact with the ARC until we can ascertain how dangerous it is. All ships remain on high alert!

Oh, I didn't consider Destroyer, that'd be cool. Multi-Mission Destroyer maybe?

Whatever they decide to call the New Orleans, I think cannons are a must with those little weapon pods on it. Sensor Analysis and Cruiser power boosts on top of it would be icing on my personal cake.

LOL, I barely play this game anymore, I just want to see this ship made.

The only "source" for most of this BS is the author's own mind.

Now and again I have even made up new backgrounds to known events just to make them sound a bit more dramatic. So be warned, if it's in white you can take it or leave it!

What are the chances we can get a 2012 Ships of the Line design Ambassador variant? I love the way this baby looks!

There's other threads for that uggo Ambassador variant, join one of those.

As for the New Orleans I am wondering if we'll see it before May. Might be fun to introduce around Mardi Gras, lol. JamJamz are you listening?

Those pods are actually rapid-fire torpedo launchers, from what I've read. Built at a time when full integration was too costly, so they just "bolted them on", as it were.

The Norway is already sort-of in the game as the Oslo variant of the Heavy Escort, but the model looks goofy. If they were to just make the Akira variant exclusive to the Escort Carrier, they could replace it with a true Norway class variant model.
