Fix the many things that have helped make the Cruiser and Science vessel less appealing.
Escorts are fine and need to be the bar for other vessels to reach.

Also, the Hegh'ta does have a fleet variant.

Escort are not OPed it just looks that way and it could a very good Capt as well.

No offense OP, but isn't this like the third thread with in the past week or so that you've started that basically boils down to "cruisers are weak so buff them or nerf escorts"?

Look, from the discussions it is very clear that people are selfish and vehemently defends his own ship.

This discussion is pointless to continue, because it will always be skewed towards your preference.

I don't think anyone is saying Escorts are OP per se. Its more to do that every ship in the game is outclassed by an Escort because most tasks are DPS orientated... well the one that matters.

Actualy if you read past the titles to the actual posts you will find I am usualy talking about effectiveness of a given system

In one thread I suggest beam arrays need a look, since you only see beam arrays on cruisers and science vessels, people assumed I was talking about the ship. I was not, I was talking about the weapons, and how there were generaly in-effective and just used because there was no alternative in some cases.

IN the "OP" escort thread, I suggest that the escort class is too widely varried and that it should be split into two classes. Thus giving you either the fighter pilot sensation or th edestroyer captain feeling, not both at the same time. ANd if it was done some of the harder hitting escorts would be a little squishier making them more of a trade off to run.

In this thread I suggest a ship that would fill the role of the canon cruiser. capeable of filling any role, just some not as well as others.


I have explained all this in every thread but most responders tend to just read the header, or maybe some of the shorter post and offer an opinion, then others weigh in on that opinion and suddenly I am the one whining about cruisers when, in most cases I have only mentioned them as an example in a given senario.


It really isn't my problem if people cant read, so stop blaming me for their failure.

Well the stats I gave make it less in most areas than another cruiser. and since it lacks the ability to equip cannons or manuever as well as most other ships I think this would offset a tactical heavy build, since you would be stuck with at most a 20 degree turn rate (sacraficing half of your available console slots and some cash) and be limited to only the DBB as a spike damage weapon.


I am open to suggestions on stats however as most of the were pulled from a place with no sunlight.

Cause if your talking about increasing cruiser dps that is the inevitable result.
Because I'm talking about raising beam weapon utility. Yes dps would increase as a result but it isnt the primary goal.

This would mean that any ship running beam weapons increases in effectiveness. and since any ship can run beam weapons everyone benifits.

Really even with my 2 restricted weapons I still feel almost every ship could use them, it would likely just be bop's, defiants, and vesels of similar size that couldn't

Escorts are far from OP. They are easy to outlast and gradual over-gun.

In my Vorcha I haven't had any issues destroying any escorts. Same can be said when I played starfleet side, birds of prey were no contest.

My all time favorite ships in the game are the Birds of Prey, but given how this game is when you get towards end-game content, Birds of Prey are truly no contest in many of the missions, unless you have a second BoP player along side you.

DPS is nice, but it doesn't do you any good when that pack of escorts or cruisers can just cut you down and destroy you in your FIRST pass before you can even complete it.

If anything, buff the BoP to match the escorts in stats, and buff the escorts by giving them universal slots. Win-win on both sides.

And buff the cruisers to the equiv of Klingon Battle Cruisers.
