# 1 best BoP set pieces
03-22-2013, 04:19 PM
I'm spec'ing the sets and pieces for my ships and they're all pretty simple except the BoP. I dont see anything that really works, since they are all designed to boost cruisers and/or science and the BoP just needs moar hull. All these things boosting turn rate, the damn thing is already squirrely. Any suggestions?

The fed maco deflector and khg shield. The. The engine to match. I recommend khg for the power boost and torp dmg bonus.

The fed maco deflector has the largest hull and shield boost.

I had the complete khg set. And pitting the maco deflector on instead gave me 2k+ hull and 1300 shields.

Just reviewing your suggestions and it looks like some really good advice. I wont benefit any/much from the 2-piece KHG bonus since I dont have torpedoes on that ship anymore (DHC/DBB) but the individual pieces are very appropriate

The id go for fed maco deflector and engine. The bonus for the 2 piece maco is a bonus to recharge speed. Help those cannon abilities out a bit.

If you dont care about bonus's the borg engine is fantastic. Flat bonus to engine power.

I use two-piece Omega (Deflector/Engine) for the Tetryon Glider (got a Plasmonic Leech too plus specced into Flow Caps) and the Elite Resilient Shields - although I'm sort of an anomaly amongst B'rel captains - I actually use Disruptors

Disruptors and Antiprotons are amongst the best weapon types nowdays.

heck yeahs, I use disruptors on all my klingons... so easy there, fed has to struggle with what is justifiable in canon lore and klingons just click the disruptor filter

This was all when the Fleet Norgh topped out at about 22k hull. You really don't need more hull. KHG 3 piece is nice. More than nice really.

Unless of course this is strictly for PVE. In that case you really don't even need a BoP.

Suggestions of Maco, or more hull, or whatever that was about, are really interesting and relevant for escorts. Or something. Not a BoP.

You will never, in any way possible inside the mechanics, beat the defense bonus that you can gain from the KHG 3 piece. Just by the way. In case anyone was thinking that a couple thousand shields points was better. It isn't.

Cheers

Little serendipity here: I moved an Aegis set to the BoP until I finish the Omega grinding, and its a really delicious match up. The deflector gives a nice boost to hull and shield regen, and the engine w/ 2-piece set bonus gives a 10% defense boost. The shield gives further boost to regen, and the 3-piece bonus boosts multiple types of resistance simultaneously. I'm yawning through content now. Lack of agility and sci boosts are irrelevant because BoP. May have found a ship that the set is good for

edit--mistaken about the hull regen, that is the MACO/Adapted KHG deflector

I keep looking at Omega, but I can't make myself sit for the endless grind necessary either to craft it (Dilithium and traces) or buy it (EC cost).
