100 Lockboxes, (cost 990,000 Dilithium for the keys, exchanging at 88:1) wanted a Jem?Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier. Didnt get it.
Did Get:
Liked:
Purple Doffs: 3,
Bio Warheads 3 (but only needed 1).
Neutral:
Lobi: 405 (now only need to gring another mil for the jemmy),
8 ship weapons (but none as good as my current Mk xi - on the exchange soon).
Didnt need:
19 doff packs: lots of whites and greens, only three blues in the lot of them (gave all to a L7 character).
7 patrol escorts,
7 purple ground weapons.
Worthless junk:
76 dilithium claims,
and some other stuff that went straight in the recycler.
Back in a couple of months (with another mil),
Not the best return for a million dilithium.

I just like to point out you could of sold the keys on the exchange then got the ship off the exchange, and weapons for it.
would of net you at least 140 mill
Its pretty clear he's choosing to do it this way because he wants to let everyone know what the current lockbox prize distribution is like. And while I would never open lockboxes with the intent of getting the big prize I always applaud anyone's efforts in spreading such knowledge.
It is nice that we have people in the community willing to do this.
When the first lockbox was released and someone then did the same thing, less than 1% chance of getting a ship signaled me to never ever open boxes for the ships alone.
It is far better to save up ec and just buy what you want off the exchange.

I've been doing the same with my dil just because I need a new ship like I need a hole in the head.
I've found the secondary rewards in this box to be far better than the secondary rewards in the last couple since those were more fleet focused. Just as useful as the Cardassian box IMHO.
The gear and ships are good for some quick exchange cash. The doffs (Which have been the reward given about 75% of the time) are pretty helpful for your lower level toons. And sometimes you get one or two to sell on the exchange.
I like doing the mining because it's quick and easy and fun to bounce around in the low gravity, so the claims are welcome to me.
As for the Lobi... You get more on average from the Ferengi box I believe. But you still have to wait a while to get anything useful from the Lobi store. Since I keep very little in my bank (All gear is either equipped, sold, or passed along to another character) the Lobi pile sitting there isn't hurting me.
Over all, I like this box and if a player doesn't have anything better to do with their dil-bought Zen like me, I don't see why they don't open a few.

We already know, there have been many threads of this already, and an entry in the STO wiki already...so it's pretty point less at this point to keep telling players what they know.
It's like smoking we know it's bad and people are told it's bad, but they still smoke. Everyone knows the lockboxes are luck, and yet they still will open them...I would have just took the EC instead of making a pointless statement that we already know.
Peace loving space Elves you say?
Ask Major Rakal how that worked out
100 boxes. Only 405 lobi. That means you literally got 4 lobi per box and five boxes of those gave you 5 each.
That is extremely pathetic and proves the boxes themselves are hard coded to give the minimum amount of lobi possible. The chance of a 50 lobi box is as low as the lockbox prize ship.
THIS and we dont have account bound lobi. Minimum prize for USEFUL stuff is 200 lobi. 50 boxes.
This is a scam within a scam within a scam. XD

I don't think it's proof. You'd need to get into the code for that. But it is a good indication that the odds generator for it may be skewed to the low side.
Also, isn't the max 15 or something like that and not 50?
