So what qualifies you over every other person on this forum? If a person is a Star Trek fan, then there is a very high chance that they want to go to space to.

I'm going to give the OP the benefit of the doubt, but I won't be clicking on that link because this whole thing has a Nigerian scam feel to it. At least, to me.

To be quite honest... Nothing. Nothing makes me anymore worthy of going to space than anyone, but if theres a even the smallest chance i could, then ive gotta jump at it (just like anyone else, i imagine).


Trust me its not a scam, its a competition being run by the Lynx (Axe) company and is advertised on T.V. in the Uk many times everyday. You could even youtube the ad.

Have you read the small print on the advert which also states that it is subject to meeting various criteria, ie aptitude, health etc? While someone might very well win the competition and be selected, that still does not mean that they will actually make it into orbit...

I assume the vote is for only the top 200 people in a specific country. If you are in the top 200, then you have to rely on physical and mental skill by doing various tests to be selected as part of the top 4 for your country. So out of that entire list, only 4 people will be selected to go to Orlando to actually have a chance to go to space. Considering that it is listing the Great Britain section as your country, then I believe that people should only vote for their country, but I could be flexible with this if presented by a good argument. So my point stands, so assuming you win the popularity contest, what qualifies you to have a good chance at getting into the top 4? Also, it looks like you need over 500 votes to get you to the next round.

Wow, people make mountains out of mole hills. Really, what do you care if he gets all of the votes and then fails the physical? He simply asked for your vote, he didn't make you morally or legally responsible for what happens to him in space, if indeed he makes it. Either vote, or don't. It's not rocket science! (pun completely intended)

Voted, and good luck. I like to look past the prejudice of our borders. I didn't see American/non-American asking for our vote. I saw a fellow STO player asking, and I wish you all the best.

Sorry about the bit of a rant, but it never fails. There is always someone negative about something. You can say good morning, and they would start questioning on what authority you had the right to claim it a good morning, or, what exactly is the legality of the good morning, and if they shared their good morning with you, maybe it would keep someone who looks like them, or talks like them, or is from the same place as them, from having that very good morning they gave you.

I just wondered if he'd seen the small print on the advert (which is actually a pretty ****ty thing for the company to impose, given the potentially soon 'space tourism' planned by Sir Richard Branson) I'd just hate for someone to legitimately win the competition but then not pass any of the other assessments
