I wouldn't mind a Star Trek anime. I brought it up once in ESD and everyone flipped out in a sense.
Anti Anime vs Pro Anime.
Japanese animation vs American animation.
Animation in general vs another live action.
I'm an avid anime fan, I guess what the Japanese would call an otaku, there is no comparison between western style animation and anime and anyone who disses anime hasn't actually seen it. A Star Trek anime would rock.
As for the OP I could see Loli Gothic as casual wear but for a unifom, no not likely.

I live in Japan. Most of it is crap. Sturgeon's Law. It can't all be Akiria.
Also, we call western otaku "weeaboo". I can say this because I been there and done that in regards to my weeaboo period.
And I'd happily watch a Star trek anime provided it found a nice balance between a moe blob hell and self-cutting-while-listening-to-The Smiths works like Evangeleon.

Sturgeon's Law is one of those brilliant things that explains so much in the universe.
And I agree with the last point... sort of. I think that a Star Trek anime should take it's cues from TOS and TNG rather than the other Treks. Those two had extremely varied plots ranging from silly off the wall shenanigans, to action, to suspense, to horror, and back to shenanigans again. I think that's the sort of thing a Star Trek anime should emulate.
