Just a reminder taken directly from the game's description.

''The Dreadnought Cruiser's Phaser Spinal Lance is a devastating weapon. Built into the entire structure, or "spine", of the hull, this weapon cannot be removed.'When the saucer is separated, the firing chamber is removed and the Lance is no longer able to fire a concentrated beam at long range. However, the weapons is still useful. With the firing chamber disengaged, the Phaser Lances fires a powerful wide beam. The Wide Beam lacks the directed fire power and range, but it can now hit multiple targets.''

It's there, see for yourself.

I remember last year, about this time frame, it was mentioned and then re-scheduled. My Dread has been in mothballs just waiting for the saucer sep. I prefer to run it versus my Chimera but with the terrible turn, etc. it just doesn't handle to well in Kerrat, PVP, etc. The dread at least needs a fighting chance being it is a Tier5 and labeled Dreadnought. Sheesh - its smaller than the whale (oops - sorry meant Odyssey) and especially the new Jem H Dreadnought - but yet have similar turn. I for one think the saucer sep would fix this. (oh and being this is a wish - have a LT universal BOFF slot :-) ) OP? nah - just fun.
