So only quality posters will be allowed to purchase the game?

This mean that you must pay for the game to even get on the forums? Do I understand that right?

Perfect!

Although i hope that by "active" you don't also mean future free-trial accs.

Yepp.
Good to keep out trolls, but basically just an easy way of keeping dissatisfied customers from posting.
Negative voices out and let the game shine.

Usually those are put into a separate and restricted part of the forums.

Strange community growing, when you have to pay to discuss about the game.

Heh, although this way you can fool customers, as they cannot see what people are saying about the game. Pay and see...

We should make a live online massive "Beta farewell" party to say goodbye to our characters, with all of them in Risa playing with their tribbles or something like that.

It sounds like a good idea, even if logistically difficult.

It's pretty standard for MMO to restrict the official forums to paying customers. Could be like another MMO i Played that completely shut down official forums on release.

Define Active?

I am a dedicated fan.
I have posted here and been active with the Bugs.
I Have Not Posted any negative comments.
I am going to buy the game and play consistantly.

BUT what about the person whom Buys the game...pays for Lifetime...plays only a few hours...and is not heard or seen from again for several months??

Suppose this same person was active in both CB and OB.
Posted on here to more than 50+ threads.

????

Is this going to turn into another site that requires you to log into your account every 30 days and play at least 2 hours to stay "active".....before your Character(s) expire?

My guess would be the simplest way to check:
Does user have a currently active subscription?
If yes, they can post
If No, they cannot post

A lifetime subscription should mean a person could disappear for a year (sent on active duty, RL getting majorly in the way) and be able to come back with their characters and everything as they were because its an active subscription. If that is not the case then its not a Lifetime account. Its a "we took a lot of your money but you didn't play in a few months so we deleted your characters, good luck with starting over and all" account. Which it many cases could have the player say forget it and never coming back.

Is there many games out there that offer lifetime subs that will delete your characters if you don't login every so often? I know LOTRO doesn't delete your character (at least they haven't done so yet), I don't know about CO though. I suppose if they do though, it would set a bad precedent for STO also.
