I was referring to a T5 vessel - after all, this thread is about "Best in class ships", and the first poster listed a bunch of high end vessels, all in the T5 range.
But that's just it, this thread doesn't specify that they have to be T5. OP said:
Just wanted to make a list of best in class ships in game.
So that being the guideline, I feel the disparity between the Cheyenne and the other two T3 Cruisers is much larger than the disparity between the Galaxy and the other T5 (or 5.5) cruisers. Sure, the Galaxy has some issues. But the Cheyenne pretty much gets dominated by the Excelsior at T3. And the new Ambassador's also better than the plain jane vanilla cruiser you get just for levelling.
Well, filling out things for the carrier end of things, here is my thoughts on the Atrox.
The Atrox lags behind other carriers substantially before Elite Scorpions. Fed carrier pets are not very good in general (they nerfed the Danubes... a lot... don't even say it) and lack of tactical slots puts her behind the damage race before you get those wonderful Scorps.
Once you work your Romulan rep for the Scorps, torps, and the Experimental beam, the Atrox becomes quite a bit more potent. The pets put her in the realm of the other carriers, but she brings 2xltcom sci +1 com sci abilities to the table, something no other carrier (Maybe the recluse? don't own one...) can do. It makes her feel much like a VQ with an extra sci trick up her sleeve. Romulan reputation was amazing for the Atrox.
If you want to fly a sci ship but are tired of your anemic damage, the Atrox might just be what you are looking for. Full sci power, 2xelite scorps for mad damage.
