No effing chance against those 2 Tholian ships. If the effing web doesn't kill me, it's the torpedos or the bl..y 2 additional ships they get. Or the next so..ing web a minute later, best paired with a tractor beam. And the icing on the cake, they are effing spawn campers. I am in combat the second I respawn.

Make sure you are targeting the web when you get stuck in it, you can shoot a hole it in by destroying the nodes. Also, make sure you have haz emitters. And you may want to check your build, if you're a level 50, in a decent ship, you shouldn't be havving problems with 2 tholian ships. Post your build details, maybe there is roon for improvement.

Are you playing on Advanced or Elite difficulty? Mobs shouldn't be hitting that hard in Normal mode (with the exception of Dreadnaughts).

i don't even mess with half the missions in TD sector because they are so easy and provide so little loot. this being one of them.

i play on elite setting at all times. something is seriously wrong here. are you using something like reman or romulan shields?

No need to insult the guy he's clearly just having issues with something unfamiliar. Everyone has been there at some point.

To OP, when Tholians pop a web on you, find one node and shoot it out. That will create an open window you can fly out of before the web collapses, and you'll take no damage. Getting out of the web is whats important, not actually killing it. Alternately, open up with an omnidirectional AOE ability like Fire At Will or Tractor Beam Repulsors and that'll make short work of the web. As for their torpedoes that kill your weapons and engines, batteries or Engineering Team will clear that right up. Once you have your counters down, you'll find that Tholians are more obnoxious than genuinely dangerous.

Tholian webs are absolutely a pain. I'll tell you how I deal with them. I think you'll probably be able to do something similar.

If I get webbed, the first thing I do is hit ESC to untarget whatever I was firing at. Then I hit space to automatically target the nearest thing, which is usually a node somewhere in the direction I'm facing.

Now, at this point, you've got a few options. I like to use Tractor Repulsors as they auto-target whatever web nodes are nearby and can usually bring down a whole section of the thing in short order. Beam Fire At Will also works well here as it does basically the same thing. You can also use any AoE attack to target the node and see if you can't knock a few of them down at the same time.

As soon as you see an opening, fly through it. You can use Evasive Maneuvers (the captains' skill) to give you a speed boost if you need it.

That should get you out in short order. Just keep your repulsor beams or BFaW on standby and you'll be fine.

tholians are why i use beams on everything still (i dont fly escorts mind you). beam fire at will takes care of webs without you having to try to target a node or slow your ship down

Tholians are a pain no matter where you fight them.

Maybe I've just been lucky with a game lag or something, but a lot of times they seem to telegraph that they're going to fire off a web by the way they move. So I hit evasive maneuvers and head off in a random direction. I usually get out in time.

But I do have the worst time targeting the nodes. It's like the tab key fears them.

When ensnared by a Web - bean FAW or cannon Scatter Volley and/or Torpedo spread is your friend.

You also want to keep an Emergency Power to Weapons handy for when they drain all weapon power (it's completely removes it, and puts you back up to where your weapon Power levels were.)

If you just fire off Boff powers whenever, or do the old 'spam spacebar until it dies' method, Tholians will be harder to beat than most other enemy types you encounter..
