Now I know, after the fact you can't go back and change it and no designer will redraw the windows correctly. But this is reminder to be more mindful about the decks (window size) when designing new ships.

Andorian and Akira are roughly the same size now, yet the windows (and thus deck counts) are totally different.

True to ancient Andorian style, all Kumari-class ships are staffed by Tellarite slaves. Andorians only need to be on the bridge, which is appropriately sized for ~6ft humanoid.

That is why there are so many decks on such a small ship.

And every ship's Main Engineering is appropriately manned by Andre the Giant.

See this article for a description of the Akira size problem

http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/ar...akira-size.htm

It quotes that the Akira has at least 19 decks. I haven't taken a good look at the in game model, but are the windows that bad?

Nice, ILM has a Sovvie labeled as a galaxy. So much for their credibility.

Just because there are two rows of windows does not necessarily mean that there are two decks. A deck may have two or more windows stacked on top of each-other, like some current earth spacecraft do.

Take the Akira for example. If all those windows on the side represent one deck then the windows on the saucer would have to be 30-60 feet long, which is rather absurd.
