Personally, I think they still have more work to do with Siphon Drones (and interceptors!) but I do agree to an extent. I don't believe that there is a particularly good reason for a pet to have a proc or ability that is even close to the magnitude of those used by the players themselves.

If they want to buff an effect against NPCs for PvE they could always just apply negative resistance to an NPC's stats. Of course, I wish they'd add resistance stats to NPCs at all...

This is BS.

those pets tractor you and use chroniton you hit apo then the vesta ship tractors you and spams you with 2 copies of VM, your practically dead in the water 80% of the time,,im a tac in an escort and i have no problem with cool sci abilities to combat fast moving power punching escorts but pet spam with tractors/cobalts/chroniton and everything else people mentioned is total BS.

no not impossible, he was beating me 5-0 constantly,,i changed my build and respec and last time we played it was a classic standoff,,,after 20 mins the score was 1-1 so we called it quits and havent fought since. But pets that can tractor and use chroniton are not skill you just fire them off and let them hold your target while you pound it with VM and whatever weapons your using,,if they use pol hull or apo,,then you tractor with your vesta and VM them ,,,again dead in the water. With his jam sensors and double placates and VM its nearly impossible for me to get more than one full powered rapid fire volley off on him,,,matter of fact the time i killed him i caught him with a cobalt crit and whiped around and finished him off before he could do anything.

Lets make a list of everything that drops a tractor
1) PH
2) APO
3) Subspace jump
4) tric mines
5) tgt aux
6) phot shockwave
7) any placate
8) time bubble
9) Backstep
10) kill ship using it
11) TDD
13) 3 part Maco set ability
14) vesta 3 part abitiy

Now I see 14 ways to counter 1 ability so unless you completely fail at building a ship you have no reason to complain. And I don't want to hear any of this " oh well I shouldn't have to break my build to counter it" just adapt and overcome

This is flawed logic,,,as how many ships do you know have ALL these qualities at once? And your failing to recognize its continued tractor spam from those pets,,you break out using 1-2 abilities then the main ship tractors and spams VM while releasing more tractor spam pets
