It can. They are an option on all the carriers the fed can fly.

Nobody said a problem with dying, many of us are asking for some kind of = play to some extent so that skills and piloting and builds determine who wins,,,not cheesy spamming pets that do the work for you.

Every class complains about the other,,,"tacs are too fast,,too powerful" "sci has to many crazy spamming abilites" ect ect......

They should take pets out of the game period,,at least for pvp anyway.

Its usually people like you who use things like this that argue in favor of it then spout off nonsense like "well if you dont like dying" (insert ignorant statement here)

Thats bogus then, even ill admit that,,bad enough a sci vesta has it,,,i really think its worse for a tac to have it cause if your tractor spamming the crap out of someone and have high acc your going to crit them like crazy.

I have to agree with the OP.

In response to the rage and tears concerning the siphons I used on my KDF Vo'quv build, I purchased the Armitage for one of my Fed toons. I load it up with danubes, tractor mines, and two tractor beams (one from the Borg set).

When I get tired of the rage and tears when I play my KDF toon - even now with nerfed siphons, I switch over to my Fed tractor build and hit the FvF queues.

a spamable pet with a 17 or whatever second long hold that is stronger then a grav and aux buffed user sourced tractor beam is BS. they also cant be killed with rear weapons only faster then it takes to just complete their hold duration

Well, either you are in for the Trinity, or you are not. Either you think that there should be a damage dealer class and all others should be worse at dealing damage, but be easier and more often to kill or not. If you believe that the Trinity (which I find silly as a concept) has any justificaton, then you will have to accept that other classes have different ways to achieve stuff, pets being one of them.

Pressing all the tac buttons at once and spamming DHC fire does not require more skill than spamming Danubes or any other pets does. Spamming other sci abilites does not require more skill either. Just different buttons to press at the right time.

I don't think the danubes themselves are the guilty party here, its the ridiculously poor implementation of tractor beams. They either stop you dead or not, TB1/2/3 makes no difference, danubes stopping cruisers makes no difference, even the internal dampeners skill doesn't do a lot because its either going to stop you or not.

Each version of TB should have an effectiveness against the ship's interia. Possibly the ability should compare the attacking ship's interia to the target ship. Right now it seems to be like the siphon drones were, they just siphon your speed until you hit 0, which is pretty fast, no resistance, no maximum drain.

im getting sick of this post,

klingons have pets with tachyon beams, energy syphons, chroniton torpedos, tricobalt torpedos and mines, ramming speed, aceton beam, pets with more hull points than my vesta

and you whine about a tractor beam ? its not the tractor beam, if you loose against a danube pet, you will loose against a tractor beam build on any sci ship as well. get yourself some inertial dampers, attack pattern omega, aux to dampers, or polarize hull to get rid of holds or disables, the same way that sci officers have to use some plating to defend tac's dps,

its common sense, stop whining just because you are noob, doesnt mean danubes are op

you want your alpha noob build to work on any pvp, but that's impossible. sorry.

or should i start whining about bops having battle cloak ? -.-''' adapt yourself to it, the game is not as easy as picking a ship, getting some fancy gears and using alpha builds

MIGHT be more interesting to put in calcs based on relative mass vs. Inertia-the tractoring 'nubes can lock on to a ship that has considerably greater mass, and keep firing on it...

but they get dragged along behind (at reduced speed).

i.e. tractoring could cause a cessation of relative motion-between tractor source and target, but Objective 'halting' would pretty much stop.

which would fit the physics better than the universal anchor they are now.

Look into Vanilla PvP if you're tired of the endless pursuit of grind, utterly unbalanced selections of geardo-inspired traits, and generally unbalanced and careless 'development' made mostly to turn this game into a second job.
