Everytime I've launched the program I keep gettiing this error. I have reinstalled about three times and I still get the error "Error Decompressing Files" when I press Engage. I've done several Force Verify's and even tried running it in Safe Mode. But still the same error, usually when the Cryptic logo is up and about 25% of the way through the progress bar. Is there anyway to resolve this error?

System Specs:
AMD Phenom x4 9850 2.5ghz
6gb RAM
ATI HD3870 512mg
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Microsoft Security Essential AV
Spybot S&D

I've also tried running in compatibility mode and as administrator (which is on by default).

Can anyone help?

Same here, i recieve the message "Error decompressing data" at approximatly 15% of loading-bar. :-(

Just tried starting again, launcher downloaded a bunch of new files and patched, but i still receive this error message :-(
I now question myself if it would make sense to uninstall and reinstall. i
Will i have to download the latest patchfiles again?

I tried to find a hint for this problem by reading several textdocuments. What i found was a repeat of this lines in the "hog_errors" document:

100112 14:06:42 10001 MasterControlProgram[1]: Error decompressing data
100112 14:06:42 10002 MasterControlProgram[1]: Read wrong number of bytes

I´m no expert but this sounds to me like a damaged or corrupt file the game is not able to open.

Maybe a result of a already corrupt client file from the client download?
Where did you download your clients?
I guess, mine is one of the torrent clients, i started downloading last saturday...

got mine from cryptic tho something "funny" happened was at about 1% stopped startred again and it jumped to 5%.

yeah, me too. i just received another patching of my client but it still does not work.

I wonder whats the problem, the reason of this issue.

I had no problems downloading this (although it took me almost 20 hours), installing also went fine, and so did every single patch.
So if i can patch the game every time without any problem, where is the issue with decompressing the files? And what file? it woul be pretty helpfull to know, which file is the troublemaker :-/

This really makes me angry, i payed for playing the open beta, and now i can sit here for hours, starring at my screen without any idea of solving this...

I shouldn´t have bought at amazon, because now i am forced to rely on free and extremely slow downloadservers instead on the faster ones...

please god, don´t make it necessary to download once more these files for several days...

just read some were else that if u can find what .hog file has the problem u may be able to delete that file and auto patch might re down load it not sure if itll work ill try when my patch has downloaded again,
