looked over the thread and a lot of the ideas/thoughts are great for a revamped galaxy class

the one thing that would need adjusting is the saucer separation feature

why should a feature that was built into the ship be a console?

just take the MVAM.
in the original Prometheus it was built in, in game it takes a console slot
same with the galaxy; make it a built in special.

The problem is that the Saucer Seperation was tintended as a defensive maneuver to make sure civillians or other critical stuff be save while the Engineering section engages in Battle.

Cryptic just did the same thing as always, they turned things upside down and made it a offensive mechanic. But Cryptic gave it a complex to realize (stil bugged IMO) game mechanic that's not much more than a gimmick.

For a game like STO the saucer seperation should have been ignored and the GCS should have been made a much more versatile ship in the first place.

What about the fleet exploration cruiser refit. Its an excellent ship and one of the tankiest fed cruisers, its right up there with ships like the oddy, fleet excelsior, and fleet assault cruiser refit in stats.
