After much anticipation I procured one of those shiny new threat scaling embassy consoles.
The Emitter Array mk X -th pla.
So here's the problem. The plasma proc doesn't work with my Andorian Kumari Escort running the Andorian phasers. Seriously I have never seen the plasma proc trigger in the 2 weeks I've been using it.
Also, my DPS is dragged down massively when it's equipped.
One of my fleet mates has the same ship with the same phasers but lesser phaser relay consoles, he doesn't have a -th console as yet.

With the threat scaling console equipped on my ship he places higher than me in fleet actions 100% of the time.
With it unequipped I place higher than him 100% of the time.

This is observably true, I've reproduced it many times.
I am lucky to get 3rd place on Gorn or KSF with the console equipped and usually get 1st with it off.
The threat reduction seems to work but I am wondering if it's working because DPS is greatly reduced?

That's not a bug. Things like Gorn minefield work on aggro generated as well as damage, so that cruisers and sci ships can compete and win too. AFAIK

By reducing your threat, you reduce the aggo. That's what it's for.

Your DPS isn't affected by it, in fact it should go up when the plasma procs even more so if you use plasma weapons.

Documentation, plz. As far as I know, it's still just DPS and the objectives. (Freeing the freighters, etc..)

Thanks for the reply tc10b, makes sense and just means I need to lose the console on the Fleet Actions and put it back on for the STF's.
Not a big deal.
Does this apply to carriers too? What I mean is do the fighters get the threat reduction as well?
The reason I ask is that another fleet mate of mine has the Jem'hadar carrier, uses a -th console and if I use my -th console he beats me in fleet actions.
This leads me to believe his fighters' aggro is unmodified by the console while still counting towards his score?

I wouldn't know about fighters, I would imagine not though. What you might be missing out on is the higher DPS generated by having fighters out.

As soon as I lose the -th console I beat him 100% of the time irrespective of his 12 advanced peregrine fighters.

That was certainly the impression I got from Ask Cryptic in January as well as my own observations. It would also fit in with what the OP described.

No but some of them give 9.6% extra damage to plasma. There was a semi colon missing there.

Can I please enjoy one thing in this game for 10 minutes without someone telling me it is broken or nerfed.
