I'm a big time Melee player.

Sometime back, disheartened by the lack of Melee DOFFs available, out of desperation, I earned a lot of EC to purchase this loadout:

Melee DOFF loadout

Now, the first two were not cheap.
In addition, they are exceedingly rare, so obtaining them is not easy!

But the bonus they provide to Melee Combat is extremely useful.
If it procs right, you can permainterrupt an enemy with knockdown.
In the best example, I once had an Elite Tac Drone on his back constantly.

Unfortunately, due to the cost involved and the rarity of the DOFFs, only my Starfleet Captain has been able to spec this build.
No other Captains will be able to do this.

Which doesn't seem fair to me.
You can buff tons of non-melee skills any number of ways, but when it comes to Melee, it's like we're being penalized for choosing to do something other then use rayguns!

And being a predominantly melee-skilled player, this is a source of constant aggravation.

This needs to change.

New versions of the melee doffs I linked need to be made available somewhere ingame.
Preferably via a Melee Specific Vendor, so you can choose the ones that suit you best.

And in case you're curious, here's the current exchange prices for those DOFFs:

I couldn't find the 4th one, the KDF equivalent of Tosk, so that one isn't shown.

Being able to have very tough enemies, constantly interrupted and on thier back, unable to retaliate... is not at all overpowered.. at all?

This is just my opinion,

but when it comes to DOFFs that give powers that when chained become monstrous in their 'op'ness, or make a skill TOO good.. then its good they are rare. Just a small thing i would like is that they are so rare.. they dont exist.

Balance is there for a reason, not to be nonchalantly blown to the wind for doffs/toys that make something beyond 'good' but 'TOO good'

But hey, that's just one opinion

As for melee' users being 'penalized' not sure where this comes from, most tactical buffing skills buff "damage" if memory serves?, as in ALL damage.

And if not, then please ignore the last paragraph, but you cant ignore that the 'close combat kit' has motion accelerator, increasing speed of movement and power of melee attacks,
Furthermore melee ISNT penalized in the respect that it even gets a piercing trait, 80% shield penetration
There is a difference between 'need and greed' in the game, like there is a difference between 'need and want' in the forums

Melee attacks are incredibly powerful as it is with just three blue security officers that augment your physical damage. It doesn't need to be any more powerful or it will risk breaking game balance.
