what a sad, sad day
Sadly I agree. If I can't play I want my money back!

The game has not been released until today. Beta means just that; you get to play early, but you must pay for the right to do so. If you took delivery of the goods and consumed them, you must pay for them. That is how money works.

INstead of beefing, why not wait until the game has been in release, for oh, I don't know, more than 24 hours before you start talking about disputes and whatnot. Relax. In a couple of weeks, you'll be enjoying the game and I assume bragging about how you had to ride it out in the early days.

Same problem as everyone else. I'm gonna wait until the patch tomorrow before i start disputing anything. but it makes me mad that I paid all that money for the collectors edition and as soon as i finish making my character it crashes. Never had a problem until this game.

me too-same problem. I just posted a new thread about it, but it'd be nice to hear from Cryptic that they're working on it...are we EVER going to be able to play this game?

Might as well load my info up. Black screen occurs after I create my player and a soon as I press play. It is very frustrating, obviously i've tried the safemode option and screen resolution and updating my drivers but nothing works. I have a reasonably new computer aswell, bought it last year and I have no problems with other games.

You know....I just got my copy of STO today....was looking forward to playing it and poof....black screen after a decently compelling intro.

I logged out checked to see my if my video drivers were up to date and now I can't log in. The sad thing is I've had the same exact problems with Champion Online when it came out.

Frankly, I thought I was ready to tell Cryptic to take a long walk off a short pier in to a vat of fiery sewage. I'm already starting to regret that I didn't.

Not a good first impression...hopefully we'll hang tight and see something worthwhile.

I don't know what to tell you others who've had the same issues. I gave up. I was really disappointed with the game play I could get to and sad that this is what we waited so long for. I've been a Trekkie since birth so that's a long time to wait and be so disappointed, but then again, Star Trek isn't the same anymore either.

I digress. I have a laptop so my drivers never had an update that was acceptable to the game engine, or launch pad, which ever was messing with my ability to log in.

I kept the collectors edition for the comm badge. Again, sad but true.

and @Cudgett - dude we all know what a beta is. I was in the beta for SWG and that game sucked in the end too and I, again sadly, no longer play that either. Don't talk to people like they are a 3 year old because they protest having their money taken and nothing to show for it. That's what you're SUPPOSED to do in order to hold those accountable, accountable. Regardless of the launch date and regardless of bugs in the game system, we all paid for a product that promised to deliver and failed on multiple levels. And as I acknowledged in several posts during my frustrating search for help, all I ever wanted was for someone from Crypitc to oh...I dunno..SAY something about how they were working on the problem, offer solutions, a private email offering my money back in a gesture if nothing else. To feel like they gave a crap. I understand that things can get crazy right at the start, and I was willing to wait if only I had heard that someone was doing something. My patience with that evaporated with all the BS we had to deal with from SOE and I was hoping Cryptic would be different. I was wrong.

So I protest the only way I know how. I no longer pay for the game, and no matter how many emails I get enticing me to come back, I will no longer pay for the game.

So wait, you guys are upset with Cryptic and STO because you didn't look at the recommended specs before you bought (and subscribed to) the game?

In what alternate dimension does that make sense?
