Hello all, i am lv 45 engineering, and i am in process of getting fleet ship module and resources to buy fleet cruiser. In the beggining i want to tell that being full tank or healer is just not my style. I am quite confused about what to choose. My first option is to make beam boat with fleet star cruiser or with fleet exploration cruiser. My weapons would be antiproton beams. I would use Emergency power to shields and weapons to keep high shield and weapon powers with additional help from weapon batteries. Both ship should be very defensive and hard to kill ( 5 engineering consoles and great officer spots for fleet exploration cruiser and same thing for science consoles and officer spots for star cruiser ). My last choice is getting fleet assault cruiser refit, which have worse engineering and science statistic. Ofc he have more tactical options with capacity of having 2 tactical team, beam overload, dispersal pattern for mines and torpedo spread . But problem is that i havent heard any1 who have fleet assault cruiser or opinions how that ship react in end game pve or pvp.... i would be very gratefull if u could share youre experiences and advices...thnx in front all
well i like engineering, but there are more versions of fleet shiips... some are attack oriented, some are defensive.... i like fleet assault cruiser, and i would be grateful if some1 who have it can say is the ship ok i end game pve or pvp.. or is something wrong, ans things like that
I don't have that ship but the guy above is clearly an escort captain and can't see out of his little world
I own the fleet exploration and fleet star those are in no way damage dealers so stay away from them but the fleet excelsior and fleet assault cruiser are very capable of damage dealing
Yeah not on the levels of a defiant or mvam but they can be built to bring the hurt nevertheless especially the excelsior

thnx, cruiser can have diferent roles....star cruiser is tank, healer....fleet exploration can be made into beam boat... but fleet assault is somewhere between. It can dish some damage, can stay alive, and help alies with extend shield and maybe transfer shield strength.. My fleet mate told me it is best to ask for other oppinions becouse fleet modules are expensive so it is better to be sure
So let me get this straight. You don't want to be a tank/healer/support... but you want to use a cruiser as an engineer... Oooook. That's slightly problematic. Well, first things first. Anything with fewer than 3 tac consoles and fewer than 3 tac BOff ability slots, stay away from them (that eliminates Fleet Exploration and Fleet Star Cruiser. Sorry). That leaves us with the Fleet Heavy Cruiser, Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser, Fleet Support Cruiser and Fleet Assault Cruiser. Realistically you probably won't be able to get the Fleet Assault Cruiser (something about a Tier 5 shipyard required), which leaves us with the Fleet Heavy Cruiser Fleet Support Cruiser and Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser.
The only one of those ships that is heavily tactically inclined is the Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser, and it only requires a Tier 3 shipyard, so that's probably your best bet. The only catch there is that you need 5 FSMs instead of 4. But in the end, from what I've heard, the ship is worth it. I personally hate the excelsior, but I cannot deny it's performance. So I would go with that one.

no no... i said, support in the form extend shield or transfer shield strength is ok, i even like it... and my fleet is not so far away from shipyard lv 5...I have in mind something like this on fleet assault cruiser...6 beam weapons ( antiproton ), 1 torpedo launcher and 1 i dont know, mine or turret...On my tactical slots 2 tactical teams ( both first ensign rank ), and beam fire at will and torpedo spread..... On the engineering officer i was thinking about emergency power to shield 1, that ability which absorb incoming damage, emergency power to shield 3, and auxuliary to structual field III.. About other commander engineering officer spot i was thinking about emergency power to weapons I and extend shield I....For my commander universal slot i was thinking about hazard emitter I and transfer shield strength......Would that build work on assault cruiser... In this way i have 2 support skills, and can do some damage, plus i have good healing capabilities for me
