Well I'd love it if they did something, as the upgraded Assault Cruiser right now makes the Dreadnought Cruiser look much less impressive. The Dread doesn't need much! It's just not quite on par, just like the other Galaxy variants aren't quite on par with some of the other comparable cruisers.
I'm not a proponent of radical change or massive power creep, just a tweak to an old favorite.
I think, to make a Fleet Gal-X effective, they would need to swap in the Assault Cruiser Refit bridge officer layout, and the Fleet Assault Cruiser console setup. This is not that big of a stretch, and considering on a few of the builds they diddle around with the BOff setup, it shouldn't be too surprising. Granted, of those I remember off the top of my head, the "diddle around" was the c-store variant compared to the free variant (Advanced Escort versus MVAE for the Fleet AE, Regent vs. standard AC for Fleet AC).
Also, saucer separation, although where that will fit in I couldn't say. I do know the idea in general has been in the works for a while, though, and might be enough to get me to consider picking one up.
On one hand it can now pack the biggest tac powers possible. On the other it intentionally has the weaknesses of 3 engineering ensigns, gives up access to Commander-level engineering powers, and can't run dual TT1. Its not min-max optimized, but it would give the ship its own extra-agressive character unlike any other cruiser.
its coming they said so but I wonder with whats already in the fleet store with the fleet galaxy what could they do to a fleet gal x that would make me want to but it ?? by all means my friends please disscuss.....
