I have the Kumari 3 pack and the Siege Destroyer. I bought the Siege Destroyer because my KDF character is a Nausicaan. And so I felt the need to have his species' ship. I bought the Kumari because when I returned to the game I changed my main on the fed side from my engineer cruiser captain to my escort flying tactical officer. And a week later the Kumari is announced. It was a perfect fit.

Did the ship in question meet, exceed or fall short of your expectation and why?
The Siege Destroyer took some tweaks and some getting used to. Also not having a cloak was a step down from the Raptors I had been flying. And for the longest time I didn't get much out of the spinal lance because back then it was a disruptor and I was specced for Anti Protons. These days that's not an issue. I'm happy with the purchase, but think there's better ships on the KDF side to fly. Also, as part of the "polite protest" I switched my title to Disenchanted, and changed my ship to my K'Tanco (since it's a sunset ship from the KDF). So I'm not even flying it anymore.

The Kumari exceeded my expectations. It's an easy ship to fly. It's fun. And I'm glad I bought it.

If you have all three, which one do you fly the most and why?
I have 2 of the three. I fly the Kumari the most. It flies like a Federation side Raptor, so it's very comfortable to me.

What are the pros and cons for each?
Pros of the Kumari:
It's powerful right out of the package. It's an escort in a game that is slanted toward DPS in both PVP and PVE. It has two variants that can be given workable survivability for PVP purposes. All three variants put out great DPS in PVE encounters.
Cons of the Kumari:
The 3 piece bonus is meh. The consoles are meh. I like the science console best, but it's not that good in some STFs because the objects don't have shields. It's turn rate is 16.

Pros of the Siege Destroyer:
It's a DPS ship in a game that is slanted toward DPS. It's big gun is much easier to take advantage of since skill tree revamps, so you can equip any beam energy and still get a big boom out of it's special weapon.
Cons of the Siege Destroyer:
Siege mode makes it turn slow. It's a little klunky to use so takes some getting used to. It's still a raptor the rest of the time so can be a little weak defensively. Oh and no cloak.

Which would you recommend?

For your Andorian? THe Kumari.

Sorry, I have no information whatsoever on the Vesta other than the Aventine was fun to read about in the books with Captain Erzi Dax.

On the other hand, the mega cannon have a 3s before shooting, and drain your weapon power (you need a battery/EPtW or loose DPS).
For a damage output not superior to the guramba lance.

The shield nuker is better, but if you need it to remove a borg shield, you have a DPS issue.

The Kumari consoles are just a gadget, they are not really worth it. The DPS is not really good from them, even including the pets.
I am an Engineer with a Red Matter Capacitor, I have never wanted for Weapons Power.

I always mount a Dual beam Array on the Front, nothing beats a BA:O III for dropping a shield.

I have both kumari and vesta packs. I think the cool thing about the packs is that you can place all universal consoles on one ship. The kumari can dish out a lot. With all three cosoles, you have the ability to have canon platforms, which are awesome. They are basically an extension of the canons that you have on your ship. Also you have the ability to have canon overload which can dish out a lot of damage and also the ability to damage enemy shields. The only issue is that they are pretty weak. I tried playing an STF mission, and I died constantly, sometimes almost instantly. I think the coolest thing about vesta packs is that you can equip canons and they have a hangar. I can't tell you the specific consoles, but with all 3 you have the ability to use quantum shields, ability to heal shield strength, quantum phasers, quantum graviton shields, and also a quantum slip stream drive. I think both packs are great, but I would go for the kumari class. I think the kumari class is a lot more fun to use, but that is based off of my opinion.

I have the three pack of Andorian ships. the only glass cannon ship is the Tac version. The other two are perfectly fine escorts.
I do ok in my Sci version anyways. Not noticed any more detriment by having slightly less hull and shields...

Fed: Eng Lib Borg (Five) - I only play one char now, such is the state of the game..

My main is a tac escort captain.
The new andorian ships aren't that tempting, they are fragile (for a fleet level ship) with a lot of burst power that is sure to draw more agro. Currently flying an HEC

My 2nd character is a sci flying a chimera. Its flexible and gives me enough science to make me happy. The Vesta is tempting, but that cmd science spot is.. really useless compared to eng or tac cmd. I won't get one until science is fixed.

My 3rd character is a tac kdf. It is currently flying the veteran ship too, and did fly the Garumba for quite some time. The siege mode needs some help, while its fine for most predictable stfs, its just too slow and the transformation process is frustrating.

Oddly, I made an eng to fly a fleet excelsior (now moved to Dkora) and really like it. It does good damage, lots of agro and tanking. It provides more than just one function, unlike an escort.

Of the 3 choices, I'd probably take the Kumari escort, but only because science is beyond broken and the kdf side is hardly tolerable.

Put two threat down consoles in the science slots and aggro is only an issue when flying alongside complete fools.

Kumari is very nice but as with the vesta you want to get all three. Especially the vesta is bedt if you get all three. The consoles are nice and fun - not always the most effective dps wise but at least for me really fun. But in the end its 5k zen so if you dont have that much dont get vesta. Kumari is easier and i would recommend the sci version.
Im a tac myself and i use the sci kumari and it does loads of dmg without being a glass cannon.. The tac version is but just dont use it

Dont have the grumba so cant say anything to that but if you have only 2.5k zen get the grumba or sci kumari. Dont buy the vesta unless u get the whole 3-pack.

They're not as fragile in practice as they look on paper. I routinely solo a transformers + their attendant Cubes on KASE without dying. As long as you're willing to invest a few DOffs in making them survivable and change your mindset to just out-DPSing the Cube, you will win easily, even in the Tactical Version of the Andorian Escorts. Also, they don't just have bust power - they have very solid sustained DPS as well, and are absolutely fantastic if you find a competent Cruiser captain who's invested heavily in Threat Control.

On the other hand, I don't have access to the -threat consoles (and might not equip them if I did), and it's sort of annoying when Donatra targets you for over half her health bar, despite not firing on her after drawing aggro and flying out of her range >.>

Even then, I think that that perception is massively overblown on the forums. I saw someone solo tranformers and cubes in KASE in the Tactical Andorian Escort the day after I got my Andorian 3-pack (I was flying the Engineering version for more survivability), got some pointers, and haven't left the Tactical version since. It's extremely capable in ESTFs, and can solo anything short of a Tac Cube/mission boss.

Only if you're doing it wrong...

The Vesta is the Besta.

Vesta > Fleet Recon Sci
Vesta > Fleet Deep Space Sci
Vesta > Fleet Intrepid

The only one that's any sort of competition is the Nebula/D'Kyr, and that's solely due to their ability to field a LtC Eng and Lt Sci (instead of on the Vesta, where you're forced to use an Lt Eng in addition to your LtC Uni).

But that's just BO abilities.

The Vesta's got a killer turn rate, a hangar bay, DHCs, and some amazing consoles. I've got my Quantum Focus Field Controller at a tad above 8k/sec DPS and the Sympathetic Fermion Transceiver is essentially Godmode.
The first we heard of getting new PvP maps "soon" was in August of 2010. We're consistently told something will be coming with the "next" update. Absolutely nothing has come to PvP since launch.

I think it's finally time Cryptic stopped stringing us along, don't you?
