03-09-2013, 03:32 PM
Hi Guys been looking around possibly in the wrong locations but I'm trying find out what cryptic are currently using as their graphic engine...

If you happen to know please post... more of a personal interest issue then anything else...

I Guess know this would help me to tune my system to make the best use of my hardware for it ... but really just interested ....

I think they use their own Cryptic engine. I could be wrong, if anyone knows otherwise feel free to correct me.

We have our own proprietary engine. I'll call it Eduardo.

Psst, Unreal 4. You know you want it. Just bow to it and all will be forgiven. Don't and you can pick if I use my Lancer or Retro Lancer.

It's definatly thier own in house toolbox/engine. It aparently doesn't do anything close to photo real. The graphic portion is either pretty cartoon line in its rendering, or thats... works kinda ok ..it has its limitations, the cryptic art style. I really don't know which . It how ever is just as graphics card intense as any of the rest of the current pop engines . Other then the look of the art assets and a couple paculiartities of thie engine (everything is instanced..sigh!) and distance, scale, and numbers seem to be a bit more of an issue for cryptic game titles.

The next upgrade of your engine should be called Sombrero or Juan
