I highly recommend the Fleet Ambassador. I use this setup:

Tac boffs (one is universal)
TT1, THY 2
TT1, APB 1
BFAW 1

Eng:
EPTW1, EPTS2, ET 3, ATS3

Sci:
PH1, HE2, TSS3

I also use three Romulan Tactical boffs with the Romulan Operative trait and the 3 universal consoles that boost critical chance (Assimilated, Tachyokinetic converter, Zero Point Energy conduit ) in my engineering slots, along with a neutronium armor. My critical chance is 14% with this setup, meaning 1 in 7 shots is a critical. To me, this outweighs the 4th tactical console on the Fleet Excelsior because you can't get its critical chance nearly as high.

My 3 science consoles are all Romulan embassy consoles that boost threat and the Shield Emitters skill(works amazingly with EPTS and TSS) along with the plasma damage bonus. If you don't like generating threat, you could always go for the -threat consoles instead.

I have the full Romulan set and the borg cutting beam along with the assimilated console (I don't care for the Omega torp) with a full fleet plasma beam build (they're cheaper than the Romulan prep weapons) + the Hyper torpedo. Tac consoles are of course, 3 mk 12 very rare plasma infusers. The ship tanks like a beast and can handle a tactical cube or a unimatrix with that setup. I'd say it's a pretty good PvE kirking setup, and you can throw out heals to teammates quite well.

If you're not in a fleet with a T3 shipyard, I'd be happy to let you use mine... for a nominal fee (fleet marks are acceptable currency).

I nice one is RA Sovie, Not the bloody Regent." with the right build took on a GalX and an Oddy alone and got first blood.

Gal X not bad either. Hvave to use phasers to maximize the4 Lance and with EG Team, SIF, Aux to weapons, aux, to shields, Reverse Sheild polarity. Make here tough. Tac have Fire at will, beam overload, and Torp Spread or High yeild. TT is crap unless you don't have aux to weapons for Beam overload.

And Armitage very good for anyone to use.

You can easily get the TT1 to cycle with just one copy if you have purple quality conn officers. A tad expensive to get (~3.5 mil each) but very much worth it.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Tired of Wasting EC and Time trying to get Superior Romulan Operative BOffs? Here's a cheap and easy way to get them, with an almost 100% chance of success.

I have the Armitage. I like the ship a lot. I use advanced Danubes because of the tractor beam and chroniton torps - they hold stuff which lowers it's defence. I think it would be good for PVP if only I could sort out a decent build and skills!

If you don't want to grind, the Mirror Patrol Escort is about 40,000EC on the exchange and has room for a couple of engineering boffs. So cheap, I bought one just to store a few of my cannons on!

I am still playing around because I am finding I don't use/ don't need half my stuff.

Lt Commander Tac: TaW1, TT2, APO1
Commander Eng: ET1, APIO1 (never ever use), EPW3, DEM3
Lt Eng: EPS1, ET2, <---- ET2 is used on friendlies 90% of the time
Ensign Eng: EPW1 <----- almost never use or need
Lt Sci: HE1, TSS2 or HE1,TBR1 <--- depending on mission need

The ones in green are the only ones I ever use. I know everyone hates TT2 but I like it and it makes me happy. With the other toys on my ship I get about 3K DPS per beam. I do mostly broadsiding in it. I am running Adapted Maco, I have both the Omega Weapon Set and the Romulan weapons set. I have just switched from my Borg Anitproton to all Romulan plasma weapons because of all the new buffs with the reputation system, I do NOT PvP in it. I also have the embassy threat consoles, plasma infusers, red antimatter console, the shield buff console (can't think of the name) and the Impulse capacitor to intercept enemy ships.

This set up works for me

I play Engineering Toon and I always think of getting a round up capability of both PvE and PvP. In the past, I flew Odessey pack and I found it nice to tank, but because of too many pack consoles, I found it lacking of fire power.

Recently, I moved to Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught, and I love this baby. So much more fire power and the turn rate is spectacular. Compared to Ody, I feel that I could do so much more in taking out the Borg in STF. The drawback, because of its firepower, I sometimes forgot of my previous role in healing my team. The firepower can still outweight this healing role into faster cleaning up the Borg from the map.

How is the Dreadnought as a tanker/healer in PVP? Sure, it has great firepower, but how does it perform engineering-wise?

If your looking for a ship that can get in, scrap it up, and take a licking while doing it, and you are looking for something that isn't an escort, I'd say either the ody pack or the (fleet)regent.

People go gaga over the excelsior, but I hate its boff layout. Redundant eng ensign... no thanks. Fleet regent gives up 1 point of turn to get a better boff layout. Yes please. High turn cruisers aren't that difficult to play, turn 7 is plenty. (I fly turn 5 on my main ship... trust me... turn 7 is viable if you learn how to handle a big girl)

Tac ody with saucer sep is even better, IMO, but people have problems thinking outside of the box. They read she has turn 6 or fly the freebie version and start babbling that she is too slow to be viable... She is plenty nimble while sepped, and if you know how to fly you can get her pointed where you want easily enough while you aren't sepped. You can decide not to use all of your ody consoles (the 3pc is not that great, really) and you get 2 consoles back, as well. At that point I just consider my saucer sep console the worlds greatest RCS generator.

Always funny how carriers are OP with a turn of 5, but cruisers are supposedly garbage if the end up with a turn under 8... lol...

I don't know what you are talking about! I have never actually tried to turn a cruiser.

What's wrong with phasers? If your pvping which I'm guessin you do with your vague opening statement there still one of the front runners even with the nerf

Aux to weapons? - I guess you mean emergency to weapons

TT is crap - guess you havnt heard TT is the best single power you can have on a ship

Your better of going with beam overload or BFAW both really isn't feesable

I couldn't make anything else out
