# 1 Placing Objects on Tables
03-13-2013, 08:09 PM
I have been attempting to place an object on top of another object. (a bottle on top of a table). I've been adjusting the bottles height to do that, but I can't put in specific numbers, it always changes the height when I click off the box. The defaults are either too high or too low.

Anyone know how best to do something like this.?

The only time I ever use Snap to Grid is when I'm laying down rough layouts. Having objects on exactly the same frame tends to cause clipping issues from overlapping objects.

Just note that when you close STO and reopen your project, Snap will default to enabled and you'll have to turn it off again before you start moving objects.

Thank you for this! This was causing me so much frustration while working on my project. In all the tutorials they are able to type in specific numbers but mine were jumping all over the place... you are a savior!
