Good. I used to have at least one on each of my alts.
However, ever since the Romulan Zero-Point and Embassy Plasma consoles have come out, I've found myself sacrificing these in the name of DPS.
However, over the same past few months, I have been noticing myself frantically hammering my distribute shields to avoid getting vaporized by a (non-heavy) Borg Plasma Torpedo Mk LXVIII after getting losing a shield facing to Borg Shield Drain XXIV.
Could be a coincidence since there are so many variables, but I'm sure having ~18% less shields isn't helping.
it s good console make yo ur shiplighter on weight so you sheilds better and makes like real star trek game.
Seriously though its one of the most useful consoles for just about any ship, also the most efficient way to convert dilithium to EC (via crafting and selling). And agreed that more than 2 will be redundant, in terms of capacity, and in that they suffer from diminishing returns.
They add zero shield regeneration, and no resistance. All they do is increase your total shield by a minor amount because of the math and how they stack with +shield cap skill. Your lucky to see a 10% increase over what you currently have.
Frankly I find the +regen to be more useful, and the embassy +emitters vastly more useful. But to each their own.
(Other than in PvP, then they are gud)
Oh and if the borg are actually draining your shields invest a few skill points into power insulators I don't even notice that debuff from them anymore with 9 pts into the skill.
STO's F2P is basically an inferior experience for the masses at no cost being subsidized by a handful of whales seeking whatever it is that motivates them to spend hundreds if not thousands on a game.
