Heya,

It's been a while since I last played and have a really noobish question to ask...

Just for normal PVE, basic quests and such nothing too end-game-y, is it viable for tactical captains to use battlecruisers?

Or should they stick to escorts and leave battlecruisers to engineers and science ships to science officers?

Like I said really noobish, but it's been a while and with the new Romulan faction coming it's really obvious the D'deridex will be an Engineering vessel and that's the ship I want. But I already have a klingon engineer and am not so hot on the idea of having two of, essentially, the same character.

I appreciate any advice you guys/gals can give.
Regards

The "unholy trinity" does not apply to this
so yes a tactical can command a battle cruiser

I am leaning towards doing that as well, but I'll also be using the Ha'apax Advanced warbird (maybe). I will try them when they're on Tribble to see if they're viable.

Have to admit the Ha'apax is a very nice looking ship.

Still unsure if it's going to cost real money, as much of a trek fan as the wife is, she has forbidden the exchange of real currency for ships... and you know, I value my life.

The Ha'apax is going to be the Tier 5 "free" ship when you reach 'Rear-admiral'-like Romulan rank.

The only thing we know about Romulan ships is how a few of them look like and that they'll be mounting singularity instead of matter-antimatter warp cores. No stats, no nothing. Any information you might get in here is pure speculation and imagination.

Still nothing in there that would qualify anyone to give an answer to the OP. No ship stats, no Boff setups and no grasp on how things like subterfuge or singularity powers will effect gameplay.

Of course anyone following the forums for more than a day knows that you consider every product of your imagination to be a fact.

A tac in a battlecruiser will work just fine. Glad to see someone is excited about the upcoming Romulans.
