Deflector: Borg
Engine: Borg
Shield: Maco

Ens Eng: Engineering Team 1
Lt. Com Eng: EPtS 1, Aux2Bat 1, RSP
Com Eng: EPtW 1, Aux2Bat 1, EWP 1, DEM 3
Lt. Sci: TB 1, HE 2
Lt. Tac: FaW 1, APB 1

All leadership boffs sans Tac and your passive regen will keep you alive. Take 2 Technician doffs (or 3), DEM doff, and 1-2 Maintenance Engineers

Even if your damage doesn't go up the teams will (APB FTW!) and honestly if I can keep a NegVar alive without tac team and only 1 leadership boff with threat control specced you should be able to keep this alive. You may want the doff & TSS that lets TSS remove boarding parties though fair warning Assimilate ship sucks.

so this? I left out the tractor because Ive never had much trouble in this ship broadsiding (as you have seen personally). I hope you know this is going to require a huge rebuild of just about all my boffs and doffs. Its a good thing I respect you for actually running with me last night

Plasma weapons get reduced DPS to compensate for the DoT - the DoT has a fixed 2.5% chance of proccing whereas I suspect with Rep passives/Acc/Consoles etc. your 'low' CrtH is already substantially more than that.

Base DPS of AntiProton beams is higher than your Romulan beams - higher still with the Fleet [Dmg]x2 versions - which means for every shot that isn't a crit you'd do more DPS (multiplied by APA/GDF etc.) with AntiProtons.

When you do crit (which is more often than you proc with your plasma DoT) you'd do an additional 20% minimum damage (depending on the beam type - [Acc] [CrtD]x2 would get you an additional 40%).

It really depends on how much damage that Plasma DoT does but given how long the average PvE opponent lives for (i.e. not long), it's likely that AntiProton would substantially outperform Plasma.

Re: Aux2Batt - I'm too lazy to try it myself but the PvP community swears by it if you're looking to get the most out of a cruiser build - it gets you near constant uptime on Tac Team and EP2S/EP2W and would also allow you to slot some alternate Doffs (like BFI/SNB) - it's not for everyone though.

Yes but using antiproton I lose out on all the sci consoles and the 2 piece romulan set boosting my plasma damage. Not to mention the romulan beams are a plasma / disruptor hybrid. Each sci console its 8.4% damage increase and the 2 peice weapon set is another 7.6%. Apparently those consoles also boost eject warp plasma. We shall see when I test this build

I didnt see a real change in dps. But dem is active more and Im able to throw eject warp plasma alot.

Coolies I hope it's fun to fly still. Perhaps drop the APB and run HY 1 and FaW 2 see if that works better if you get bored.

O and out of curiosity how high was your passive hull regen in combat normally? And I realized the 2 doffs that reduce engineering team cooldown are redundant perhaps swap them out for one that gives +power from Epower and another that yeah no clue lol.
