To be fair, they never survived alone.

it was a cop out to have borg in enterprise and i hope someone got sacked over it
There are a few things wrong with that reasoning:

1) The Borg beamed over to the Enterprise E during the destruction of their vessel. It is also possible that they beamed some Borg down to Earth where they were overcome by the elements.

2) The Borg lost their link with the collective when they traveled back in time, which is why they were trying to build a beacon. Also, there is an episode of Voyager where 7 of 9 and her Borg companions lose their connection with the collective and they still attempt to contact the Borg collective despite that, which is exactly what the Borg in First Contact and Enterprise were attempting to do.

A borg can only adapt if it is linked to the collective
AND a Borg on his own is mindless pretty much
Remember that "hugh" was still a drone
He was still connected to the hive mind (as was Seven) both were in a time and place where other borg existed

the "surviving" borg drones would have burned up on re-entry
OR crystalised in the ice
OR been eaten by a bear

it was a cop out

As to the tutorial here
we were at least academy graduates
~And it was an emergency and short term
Also by the time I finished that I had an hours experience (mainly because I got caught up in the firefight with the borg)

they didn't survive...the borg the team found were dead and frozen solid, until they were thawed out and their nanoprobes basically revived them

Yes because that was a LONG time after Kirk died
I suggest you head over to Memory Alpha and read Janice Rand's background. She did not undergo Officer Training until after Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Prior to that she was a non-com Yeoman and a non-com Transporter Chief on the Enterprise.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

There should not have been anything to revive

Re-entry can turn a rock the size of a house into a pebble
A drone without link can not shield
Thus burns to nothing

But we are getting off beam here
The "Borg conundrum" can not be solved by mere mortals
if you take everything shown on screen about the Borg they are actively impossible
(they are both a hive mind and have a queen who controls them for example)
This is what you get when you change writers for the movie

Well you tried to quote a wiki

thats one of the "automatic loss of argument" things (like comparing someone to the nazis or calling them a troll)
But ill answer it
Yeoman isn't a crew member in the technical sense its basically the person who makes the tea

but she was actually a bit of an exception as she was aboard under false pretences (lied about her age as I recall)

Says the same thing in the Trek Encyclopedia. So what if that's used as the reference instead?

last counter, then the topic can get back to...whatever

if the drone were exposed to the atmosphere's friction, yes, it would disintegrate, but it was protected by the pieces of the destroyed sphere, which are made of much stronger stuff than a simple rock, as shown by the amount of debris buried in the snow that survived re-entry

besides, physics don't really apply well to star trek, as shown by...pretty much every other episode
