# 1 Buying a new ship
04-09-2013, 02:57 PM
Just a quick question, when it says "unlocking the odyssey cruiser unlocks the ship for every vice admiral...." what exactly does this mean? Is it that the odyssey is automatically in you ship selection on every vice admiral or does it just become available to buy with dilithium?

thanks for any help

C-store ships are account wide unlocks; all your characters of the appropriate faction will be able to claim it.
Exploration suggestions thread - give it a read

BTW, you'd pronounce it 'Cap'n Manks'

With most ships in this game, buy it once, every character of the same faction you have has access to it. The only exceptions to this are lockbox and fleet ships, which are character specific.

When you buy a zen ship for the first time, it appears in your regular inventory as a reward box, which you unpack and a full ship appears in your shipyard.

This becomes an account unlock and you can go back to the Zen store and reclaim the ship again and again on any character that can unlock it (Usually restricted by faction and rank) You can also throw away and unlock any Zen ship as many times as you want.

Zen ships are account-wide, lifetime, and unlimited unlocks.

Not always though. Only the recent 3 packs have been distributed in this manner. Single ships, like the Vulcan D'Kyr and Caitian Atrox, will be sent directly to your ship roster.

It might also be worth noting that You can always dismiss a Zen-Store ship from Your roster - and claim it again for free (if there is room). Thus You can salvage whatever is aboard and place it on a different ship - if possible. The majority of the items aboard Zen-store ships is unique and only useable once aboard that particular type of ship, though. You should be able to see which type of item it is by right-clicking on it and selecting 'info' - or looking at stowiki.org.
